Any Ram guys in SE Florida?

Good Dodge Mechanic in N. Alabama?

I got a short ride in "The Beast" tonight after personally delivering some business to Cedar City Diesel. I whole heartedly believe him when he says he doesn't know if he'll have the cojones to drive it WOT... ... althought Crazy Cousin Dilbert didn't hesitate to volunteer! ;) :-laf :-laf :-laf

Hey Meacham thanks again buddy, and check that fuel gauge next time you get in! ;) :p

I've got a skinny friend with a 10-sec Mustang that might want to drive it. I'd like to see the look on his face after posting a "pony" time in a 6000# diesel. :D

So, can you even roll-launch it in 2wd? Whatcha think Mark--is the power available? Does it spool up nice? Is it sluggish "off-cam"? Where does the boost needle go? orbit? :-laf Didja light 4 tires?

Is the upholstry still clean? Oo. :-laf :D

Welding Helmet. I never used an auto job. I strike in the dark and walk it to where it's sposed to be. You know--chicken "spit" welding. Looks like discarded chewing gum or poultry droppings.

Anybody ever bought a welding helmet on-line? Where'd you get a good deal?

I'm looking preferably for a Miller. More Preferably a Miller Xli. Yet even More Preferably a Black Miller Xli.

an Xlix would work too... Just don't wanna pony up the extra $60 for it, and don't need it's extra features either.

Actually, I could prolly get by with a Miller FS. It's a little slow on the strike reaction though.

I`ve got a Hobart auto, its just like the Xlix I believe. Bought mine from www.northerntool.com Since your in Nashville Andy, have you tried looking at the Habor Freight store over on Lebenon Pike ?

off the wall question...

I am tired of Verizon and I am thinking of going to Sprint so Shannon and I can share a plan, I have heard a lot of good things about Sprint, but wanna know if any of you guys have it and what you think about it. Also, this ready link that they are offering sounds pretty nifty too. Do any of you use that too? Thanks in advance!!!

First response is why are you tired of Verizon? Is it because you are dealing with the Gallatin branch? I went through the same thing you are talking about, and yeah they will not try and help very much at all. Ever since Marie Fann quit working there, or quit being visable there (usually in the back room) I haven't had much luck with them. Try the Verizon store in Rivergate mall, yes its a drive but they treat you MUCH better. I didn't think they would when Anna tried to convince me, but after seeing it in person I believe it. Gallatin wanted my $175 early term. fee when Anna and I wanted to do a joint acount, Rivergate charged us $15. ;)

I have Verizon and I like it. I have yet to go anywhere that I have not had service. I've never lost a call due to MY service. I had Nextel about three years ago and I won't go back. My wife has Cingular and there are many times that I have tried to reach here that her phone never rings.

On another subject, a buddy of mine from church has a '96 4X4 that he built for a show truck. The engine/transmission are stock (I'm working on him, he says "It's strong enough. ") but he totally customized the interior, exterior, and put a 10" Whiplash lift-kit on it with 45" tires. The only time it's been driven is out of his garage onto a trailer and off the trailer into a car show. It has @ 60K miles on it, I don't know how many were on it when he bought it. Any way he's dropping it to a 7" lift with 35's so he can drive it. He's already sold the wheels and tires but he's still got the lift kit. I thought somebody here might want it before I stuck it in the classifieds for him. It is complete and like I said it has practically no use on it, it's never been off-road and practically never been driven. He said it is painted the same color as my truck. He wants $1000 for it. Let me know if your interested since I'll probably list it Monday. I'm trying to get him to come to the meet. He also has an '03 or '04 4X4 that's his driver. He just put AMP steps on it.

Hey yall. . thanks for the help and ideas with my spedo/ABS/cruise/odom problem. . I figured out what did it and fixed it. . the other day Joe and I mounted a fuel seperator diaphram to the fire wall on the driver's side in the corner. . I unplugged the 2 plugs that are there so Joe could get in there with the drill easier. . shortly there after I had to hurry up and pick up my brother from school and I forgot to plug them in. . I was taking the EZ off of the truck the other day while getting it ready to go to the dealership to the the VP-44 and or lift pump replaced and noticed that I never plugged in the plugs... the spedo and stuff works great now. . anywho, I just figured that I'd give yall a chance to laugh at my forgetfulness. . now that it's fixed I just got to talk the dealership into getting my fuel pressure back up to the 14-16 psi range instead of the 1-3 psi range that it's in now. . thanks again yall. . Dale

Cheryl and I share a Verizon service plan and we're quite happy about it. We talk to each other for free always. Where we are you can forget any other service most of the time. DTC is a little better because it is local, but they don't have the IN-plan and such. Of my closest friends (all long-distance, and without 2m radios ;) ) ONE has Verizon. So he and I talk for free (no minute charge ever) any day nationwide, the other guys hear about it later :p . My mom and sister and several of these here TDR fellers are Verizon and IN calling is quite the handy thing.

And I much prefer the "plain" Motorola phones.

Methinks the advertising may not represent the whole truth. My other buddy has been trying to get a wireless internet link up on his "other" brand phone--has been up tp the 4th level of tech support. Nothing will work--junk phone in my eyes. And really green technology.

I talked to GAP yesterday. Red is at St. Thomas recovering from SIX-bypass surgery. He did not have a heart attack, but simply got to feeling too bad to keep on keeping on. The "Medical" facility in Jackson let him lay up for four days. Then Gap found out and said "BFS" and brought him up here to St. Thomas and got him fixed up. Recovery is going fine as far as I know. Keep them Arrington boys in your thoughts and prayers.

rock on.

Wow! Nice work Andy. You can start on my Isuzu's interior next! Actually, I think most of it is actually going to get replaced. That's gonna have to wait until next summer though.

Hey guys what's the best way to check for boost leaks? I installed this boost controller today but I'm still only getting about 38psi with the controller maxed out. That's up from about 32psi without the MBC. This boost controller will add up to 30psi over the wastegate setting so I've definitely got something going on here.

I'm thinking about just ordering a full set of boots from Piers. This low boost problem is getting old.

HELP!

Use some ether or starting fluid and spray it around your intercooler boots with the motor running. If you hear the motor increase in RPM you've found your leak. Either that or look at the two IC boots at the intercooler and see if they look expanded or balloned and feel spongy. That's what mine were like when I had to replace them (1 on each truck).

Thx. I had planned to just replace the carpet, but with so many things that are turning up needing replacement, I had to start cuttig corners somewhere. I feel like I'm a pretty accomplished detailer, and that if anyone could salvage that carpet I could. SO, I gave it a try. That was some NASTY NASTY carpet. whew...

I got my own special recipe for carpet cleaning solution. Works perty good. :)

Has anyone got a MIG set up to weld Alum? I have a toolbox with the latch attachment broken. :( Couple of five little tacks should hold it. I'd just rivet it back together, but the attachment point is angled funny.

I think you need TIG for aluminum. High frequency AC setting on TIG.

I've never had a MIG, but I understand they are super good for most applications, I'm just not sure for aluminum.
