If you're coming I-24 to M'Boro, it's alot fewer traffic lights and alot quicker if you'll go another 3 miles to Hwy231 exit# 81B, go north about 1/4 mile, turn right on South Rutherford between Wendy's and Krystal... that will take you to Hwy 70 then turn right, straight to Woodbury

How do y'all usually go to Woodbury?

Are you familiar with the area around Nashville? I have a job offer there and am wondering how far from Nashville I would have to move to be out in the country. Also wondering if there is any decent hunting and fishing near there. Glad to hear your timing went ok.

Hey Ron,



You can go pretty much any direction about 30 miles outside of Nashville and be in the country. I work right near downtown, and live about 29 miles out. We live in a subdivision where every house is on at least 1. 5 acres. I also have an 80 acre farm about 10 miles from my place... Hunt whitetail and turkeys every year. Several lakes and rivers good for fishing in every direction from Nashville. It's a great place to live and work. Plenty of public land for hunting as well.

I agree with Andy. He and I work together. 30 miles and your there. 30 miles here is not like 30 miles in some places. I live 36 miles from nashville and commute there daily. Takes me 38 minutes. Can't complain about a mile a minute for commuting. Depending on what side of town you are on you can live only 20 miles away but have a 45 minute drive. Those are the hotspots to live. Suburbanites!



I am a country boy myself and live where I do, Dickson. because of that. Least amount of traffic! I work on the west side of town and Dickson is west of Nashville. Nice small town and very rural surroundings. Dickson is one of the last "rural independent" towns left with in 30 miles of nashville. Meaning there is some seperation. Love to help if ya need it.

Final role call? Who's going tomorrow? I need to call Terry, I was thinking of coming through Lebanon @ like 9-9:30AM. I found (by accident) a VERY nice VERY quick senic route to Woodbury.



Take Hwy 70 out of Lebanon, and just stay on it till you see a small sign for Hwy 53 across from a Mapco station in the heart of some road construction that looks like its been going on for 4 years :-laf



Hwy 53 dead ends into Woodbury about a mile, if that, up from the McDonalds redlight. Takes me about an hour to get there and a little less to get back! Much better than any other directions I've ever gotten! :-laf

Okay, how about we pile up--I mean "meet" up the Carwash around 10:30. That means Mark will have to drive _all the way_ across Woodbury to get there from his route. There is only one carwash and it's about the first thing you see from the M'boro side on 70S. I'll probably bring the green one. I can't hang out too long, unless the WX is crappy.

Mid-TN was a pretty nice place to live before 98,000,000 yankees and 2,500 SouthofTexans moved in. I don't mind the SOT's. Now it's like any other overgrown and under-infrastructured megopolis in the nation. Was real nice 15-20 years ago.

I can be in Woodbury in about an hour from my house on the route I described.



Your original directions "lead me to believe" that it was in Woodbury

Directions: If you come in from Murfreesboro, turn LEFT in front of Higgins Car Wash/Mini Storage/Flea Mkt onto the old Highway. Go back toward M'boro a mile or two and it'll be on the right.

but hell driving from where Hwy 53 comes out isn't that far back to the other side of town. Me & Terry should be rolling in about 10-10:30 in the morning! Oo.

Hey Mark, I came back down 53 tonight from Shop Spings. Might just be a little faster. My usual route is 267 (Statesville hwy) from H20town to Auburntown then 146 into the Bury. Shorter, I'm sure, but AVG speed goes up with the Liberty route.

I saw a white 3500, Robertson county tags, with a TDR sticker in the back window tooling up I-65 Saturday @4:30 between Old Hickory Blvd. and Rivergate. Whoever it was, I was in the Maroon 2500 with the topper, TDR sticker, and Robertson county tags.
