well I did a run to La and it was tough on me to avg 70 but I did it and made it home in 6:59 I have never made it home so fast and I can tell you I'll never do it again. My mileage running that fast with no VA got killed. 18. 8n MPG I did get my skylacker lift and I have a couple hundred more lbs with the new bumper and stuff. I put the Va on and I just didnt have the heart to get behind the wheel on the interstate and white knuckle it for 7 hours back to Atlanta. I said screw the interstate and went purring through the countryside waving at Dairy Farmers and I will take a 10 hour trip like that over a 7 hours white knuckle raceway any day of the week. So much for the mileage test. speed sure killed my numbers going down there. I'd be willing to bet I can pick up 6 MPG just by slowing from 70 to 60, in fact I am going to write my congressman and ask that the speed limit be reduced to 55 again.

When are your 19. 5's going on the truck? I'd really like to hear about how the added height & weight affects the performance. Don't you have 3. 54 gears too?

They were supposed to ship in 2 weeks worst case but today is 3 weeks and they still are not done. I got my 275 yesterday but I got to much changes going on to try to isolate each thing, oh well. I just calculated my return trip with 400 lbs more stuff and the VA and it was 23. 1 but the speeds were way different so take it with a grain of salt. Yes I have the 3. 54. with the big tires my 70 mph rpms will be about 1700

I know you are going for mileage. I'm wondering more about the tires effect on performance,IE towing a load w/o changing rear gears. I'm looking at the 245's, but after seeing Fred Swanson's 03 w/265's, that looks tough. I've had a HX40 waiting to go on for over a year, and with the planned DD III's, it's tough decision. Maybe when I get back to the states in 2 weeks, I'll be able to attend a gathering like the ones that STP had, and you & Big Ugly can edumacate me.

I'd think getting a heavy load rolling might be slightly harder but I think after that It wont make any diference. I mean I got 6 gears to choose from. If I am real heavy I might stop in 4th instead of 5th. When I pulled a 28K dozer once I was rolling at about 40 K and I only went to 5th for a second and thought better of it and stayed in 4th but that truck could have pulled it in 5th. I was just SKEERED
