Competition how would this stack up against the competition

Hi folks. I'm thinking about finally buying a 12k winch and I see that the new milemarker electrics are way cheap right now(like $600 after the rebate). My question is does anyone out there have one and do they like it ? Does it compare to the Warn at all(twice the price)?I don't think I'll be working it really hard since I rarely get stuck ,but there's nobody around with one I can even look at before I buy. Thanks!

DBlake,

I to thought the price was right for thr MileMarker winches. I ordered one a few months ago from 4 Wheel Parts when they had there free shipping special. It is a very nice looking winch, and seems to be well made. I have a Warn 6000lb winch that I have had for 16 years, and they look very simular. I can not tell you how it performs , I have only used it at home to check it out. I do like the way the remote plugs in, it is better then the Warn. The MileMarker has a weather tight fitting were the Warn doesn't. I think it is a bargin at the 600 dollar price, and it comes with a roller fairlead.

Thanks for the reply Y-Knot. Unless I hear any bad comments about them I'm definitely getting one. I'll only use it in emergencies and to pull out smaller rigs,so paying twice as much for a Warn just doesn't make any sense to me.

That was about the way I thought. No one had tried one, and I knew they supplied winches for the millitary, so I gave them a chance. I think you will like them as much as I do, good luck.

Mile Marker has'nt had their line of electric winches out very long, that's why nobody has any real world knowledge of them. At $600 I can't see why not to get one.
