Mud Flaps

I am having one heckuva time finding the correct OEM splash guards (mud flaps) for my 01' 3500. I have purchased two sets of rear guards, one plastic and one rubber, both from the same Dodge dealer. Neither one fits the bolt pattern in the wheel well?? I had already installed the chrome weights on the plastic guards so when I found out they wouldn't fit I was stuck with them! The rubber guards don't line up either and the fasteners they included in both packages are cheesy and cheap.

Does anyone have the correct part number for the rear guards?

I really like the OEM plastic guards and want to give it one more shot before I go after market.

when you do order, make sure you order the 4x4 mud guards. The 4x2 are smaller.

I made my own. Used 24" wide flaps/S. S. weights. Made my own mounting brackets also. I wanted something wider than the 18"ers that most places carry.

Rear Mopar rubber mud flaps

I installed the rubber flaps on my 01 3500. You're right, the fasteners are worthless (try again Mopar!). You can almost line up the holes with the flap, but I must admit they are a bit off. I used stainless steel bolts to attach mine to the fender. I used 5/16-18X1" bolts. Threded them carefully into the plastic fender. All are holding without nuts on the back. If you'd like to use nuts and washers just get the bolts in 1/4-18X1" instead. The key I found was to literally drill out the holes in the rubber flaps to 5/16. This helped allign the holes better. Hope this has helped. BTW, I got my rubber flaps from Genos.

I, too was very disappointed in the fasteners that came with the Mopar rubber Ram logo rear mud flaps. Nothing wrong with the style, they just don't accomodate 3/8 inch of rubber, fender liner and fender. I am in search of matching hardware, only longer. If anyone can give me some hints, I'd appreciate it too.



One thing I noted, is that the instruction sheet diagram points out the WRONG holes to punch out, when installing on the later (newer) bolt pattern. It appears that nothing lines up, but punch out the next hole over on the lowest inside edge, and things start to line up ok.

Got mine from Northwest Custom (not affiliated) and I love them. They look great, very versatile in what you can put on them and so far highly durable. I dont have a specific pic of the mudflaps but I do have a few of the rear end in my gallery so take a look if you want.
