impressive over the apparently very crappy 160s it went from a max of 16#s boost to 25# where i think the wastegate pops off at, the guy i got the truck from put in different sticks trying to troubleshoot the gutless OF valve and i found out they were 160s, my cold spitting popping and white smoke got a good bit worse but went away when warmed up, i have a #887 215 pump and have no idea what the timing is but will set it to 16* if my snap on goober ever gets me the kit i ordered a month ago. fuel pressure is 16-22 depending on throttle less psi with more throttle, any ideas on potential problems? with the turd injectors it would be good after a couple times through the gears but this time i made it several miles to the interstate spitting and popping/smoking under lite throttle

my truck did this cold in 1st and 2nd. i changed out the DV's and it hasnt happend again. might want to check them just to make sure there the right ones.

it was still doing it a little after the 20 mile drive to work on this cold morning with real low throttle, get on it and it's gone but the 160s did the same thing on the first day of 30 degree weather when it didn't have a thermostat, ill play with the afc as it's still loose and all of the way forward from trying to get power out of the wimpy injectors and hope the snap on choad gets me my #$%^ing timing kit soon

ps, sorry to the jogger that was at the wrong place at the wrong time at the end of my street, i was trying hard to not shorten your life with the white cloud-o-doom

timing

when i got my truck, every time it was cool (under 60 degrees or so) when i first started it, before it got all the way warmed up, it would chug white smoke and spit, die, and hesitate if i tried to give it any more fuel than a teeny bit. once warm, no probs.

got a fella to do my timing. it had slipped way below 14', i think it was near 10' or 11'. bumped it up to 15. 5', and viola, no more problem.
