Where do I begin...….trans went out of the Ford Ranger, it's on the lift as we speak. Dang thing is next to impossible to work on, Thanks FORD! We are 30degrees below normal highs, going into the freezer again. Didn't get my camping reservation in in time for preferred area. I did, get a deal on pail of 85-140 gear lube at Mills Farm Fleet. Mobil 1 75-90 on sale again at $7.99. I only needed the 85-140 as I ran out in the shop. Gonna go out in a bit and work on pulling trans on Ford Ranger. So my maintenance issues to deal with this weekend.
Overhead console broke in the '07 near the passenger side map light. Ordered a new on that hasn't arrived yet. Had to pull the bulb out of the light since it now just randomly decide to come on when it wants to.
Took the 2010 Ram down to town this morning to pick up a new microwave at our local appliance store. Drove about a mile down the road and took a rock to the windshield. Going to be making a call to SafeLite Auto Glass next week once the snow stops.
Speaking of the darn microwave, I picked up the new one, brought it home and it wouldn't power up. Brought it back and they didn't have any more of the one we wanted in stock. So I paid the difference and brought home a convection microwave. I don't have any idea how to use it, but we have it.

Hey J,
My evening consisted of an undercoating job. Ever since the conversation with Oz I've been on the look out for an electric airless sprayer. Well, I found one on Craigslist and couldn't pass it up.

This guy retails at $275 at Lowes, got the guy down to$125. Brand new unopened in the box. I had mentioned one of the reasons for not doing the Fluid Film the last few years a time factor, this eliminates that! I did the underside of the Mercury in less than a half hour. A small gun with the wands would still be ideal for the unconventional places but an airless is the cats ass for covering real estate. Going forward I think I will do two annual coatings. A fall coating with both the smaller cup gun/hose extension and airless combo, and a quicky in the spring with the airless only. It's so easy (and cheap) why not!
Ozy, if your out there and reading this, thank you for getting me motivated again!
May i show up on your place someday to redo my Ram while traveling the US.![]()
5speed auto, 5R44E.What transmission is in your Ranger?
I just had the diff. apart in the ranger, thought I'd go ahead and do wheel bearings/seals too until they handed me Chinese bearings at store. I put the seals in and called it good. These parts houses got to realize that because they peddle crap, forces a lot of us to go to the net. That’s almost as much fun as replacing a front wheel bearing in my son’s Windstar. That we just replaced in October, that was replaced in Nov of 2017. Sigh. Crappie parts.
That’s what happened with the ‘98. Front hub bearings. They both were going. So out of 3 stores I was able to get one Timken and one duralast junk. At least I put the Timken on the right pothole side.
At anything below 10deg., YES!Does clearing off snow count as maintenance? View attachment 111642
