For those of you who have been aware of this situation and those perhaps new to the forums, I want to update on my grandson Justin who is ill with lukemia.

Justin underwent a bone marrow transplant on Jan 14th at CHOP in Philadelphia. His six year old sister was the doner. After weeks of being at rock bottom, his blood counts started to pick up. He was allowed to go home to Bombay, NY on saturday, March 1st.

He faces a long regiment of special diet, medication, trips to the hospital a few times a week, etc. So, so far so good but still a long road to travel for a boy who turned 11 years old while at CHOP.

Thanks again to all whom have offerred prayers and more to this boy and his family.

I've been checking his site off and on and am very happy that he is at least fighting this thing. We'll keep prayin' for him and his family.

QTRHRS,

I am sure glad to hear his BMT went well and he is back home, he sounds like a tough and brave kid. My prayers are with you all.

Question for Admin guys: Why don't new posts in the "Other" forum show up when you do the "New Posts" thing for all the forums? Some of these "Other" messages are pretty important, like this one from QTRHRS... .

QRTRHRS... The prayers have never stopped for this young man and your famliy... . one of thanks is now do from me also...

Mike... other forums do not show up as we are a diesel first site and back when there was a uproar about post count games and posts. . the admins. decided to not include the other forum as this is where most of the post appeared for the count games. . kinda was a relief IMHO

we can always click on this forum after we read the searched out ones from yesterday / last visit

Thanks folks,

Justin is fighting a good battle. He is lucky to have a father who has gone above and beyond to support him. But as Steve (Justin's father) has said, this is the toughest battle he ever fought but he has never felt so helpless. That is of course because it is Justin's fight and Steve can only provide a supporting role.

Kids are resiliant of course. I don't know that an adult in comparitive circumstances could have come so far, fought so hard.

We had gone to visit them at Ronald McDonald House last week shortly after they were allowed to leave the hospital after 42 days. Justin was in pretty rough shape but my wife gave him his birthday present, a Game Boy Advanced, and he got right into it. Playing is a good sign.

Steve's outlook on life has changed through this ordeal. Like many, he's had his share of the short end of the stick. I percieve that his spiritual belief has changed dramatically. In a way, he is lucky. For the rest of his life, he will know what is important and what is not.

For Justin...

I'm sending my prayers and hope for you Justin. My thoughts go out to your family. As you go through your day the key to all healing is faith. God Bless you all. Patrick. :D

It's been a while since I updated this post on my grandson Justin who since October 2002 has been battling Luekemia. Justin had gone through stemcell which had failed and most recently this winter, a treatment called a blood infusion.

The test results from his recent checkup at CHOP came today and everything is good and his doctors are pleased with all the numbers. There is some bad news in that of the six children who have had this treatment, only Justin and one other are still alive. That and he will forever face a myriad of maladies from the treatments he has endured. We can't dwell on that though, we can only focus on the present.

The family continues to thank those many TDR members and their families who offered varying forms of support throughout this ordeal. For those new on board, here is a link if you would like to see what this young man and his family have been through. http://www.sevans.net/justin.htm

Justin is in my prayers. Thanks for the update. A friend of mine took his 2yr old daughter in for a flu shot a few months ago and while there, she was diagnosed with ALL leukemia! The Lord works in mysterious ways but it's all for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28).

If your friend is online, pass Justin's website onto him. Steve has leads on good info there and your friend can email him for further help if they would be interested.

Thanks Mike. Did you click on the site? There is an up to date photo of Justin up top looking like a happy 12 year old boy.
