No, it is not a state park, and no sticker is required! The campground is owned by the city of Decorah. My gosh, it is only a week away! Ray

Well I got a place to stay in New Hamton. I'll be staying at Howard Johnson Inn. I'll be leaving Friday. I hope to be there late afternoon. Sounds like our own little May madness. #ad

Hi guys!

It looks like we may have nice weather - a real plus! Below is a schedule we've worked up. It's flexible and open to suggestions. The Fri and Sun parts are probably going to be a little more shift on the fly. Sat is probably a little more structured because of the dyno. I'm thinking we may want to have pizza or something brought in to Goerand's (translation: by Cummins) for Sat lunch. That way we'd get the most out of the dyno availability. The other meals will probably be some combination of pot luck, cookout, etc... Bring what you want and we'll all just make it work somehow (how's that for being vague?!). The Decorah Campground will probably be our base of operation away from Goerand's. I believe there are 5 or 6 of us with trailers that will be arriving on Friday. Each of us can take one tent on our site. My estimate is that there are about 5 tenters coming. I'm assuming we'll all be willing to take a tenter. There are others who are moteling it, and there are some who I don't know about. I don't think 20 trucks would be over estimating what could show up by Sat, but we really don't know for sure. Amianthus has some cool prizes gathered up!

All times (especially Fri and Sun) are guesstimates.

Friday
6:00pm: Supper for anyone there early? Or maybe supper on your own - could be thrown together at the last minute if the early folks want to do something together.
9:00pm: Campfire at the Decorah Campground for those who are around.

Saturday
8:30am?: Convoy to Goerand's from Decorah Campground
9:00am: Dyno and Bombing at Goerand's
Noon: Lunch of some sort? Pizza carryout to Goerand's?
6:00pm: Cookout (at the campground?)
After Cookout: Chapter Meeting, Sit around, Campfire, Cruise (Not necessarily in that order and not necessarily all of these?)

Sunday
Group Breakfast or Brunch?
Bombing Session?
Chapter Meeting (if not done Sat. )
Lunch?
Go Home

Let me know if you have any comments/ideas. Hope to see you this weekend!

Dave

I have a friend getting married on Sat. night. Would it be worth my time to drive over Sunday? How late will the activities being going Sunday? I wouldn't be able to make it until 10am or so. Which location would you guys be at around this time? What town is Goerands located in? Is it easy to find?

Thanks, Dan

Road Warrier,

We won't start at Goerand's until about noon on Sunday, and that is assuming we have people still wanting to run. He didn't think the church on the hill above him would find the Cummins music as enjoyable as we might! Why don't you give us a call at Goerand's Saturday afternoon, or call me at home Saturday evening.

I'm planning out my trip, and I realized that while I know where the campground is, and where Ray's shop is, I don't have a clue what the address for Goerand's is. And since we're going to be there all day Saturday, I'd sure like to know where it is. #ad

I'll gaurantee you that if you can find St. Lucas, you will find Goerands. We are talking population <500! I have handles welded on weights for trucks with more power than traction. Here we come!

New motel and camping info. There is also a B. A. S. S. tourney on the river this weekend. 250 fisherman plus all the tourney people and families fishing around L&D 9 and north. Expecting 50+ campers and over 100 requested hotel rooms around Decorah/ Waukon/ Lansing/ Marquette area. See ya'll Friday... T

For those of you coming down Friday, if you are east of LaCrosse and would like to convoy, drop me a line and I will set up a scheduled time and place for all of us to meet. If you are west of LaCrosse, it would be best for you to just stick to 52 going south. Unless, you want to travel an hour out of your way, then we will wait for you. For those of you looking to join up in our group, we will probably be able to make it from LaCrosse to Decorah in about an hour. (We knows a shortcut. ) You guys can call me at (608)304-0399. I probably won't be leaving from my house until 4:00. If there is anything else you guys want me to bring, also let me know. See you guys soon.

I suppose I should let you all know I'm coming too. Arrive early Friday if work permits. Tent for me ,doubt if I'll need it, weather should be great!

Great weekend!! Made it home around 5:40 (the weekend went too fast). It was pretty entertaining watching all the trucks on the dyno (especially Tony's). Thanks to Ray, Dave Goerand, Aron, and Fireman Dave for putting everything together. We'll have to do it again sometime soon. Now all I have to do is call the insurance man about a windshield. ------------------

Just want to thank everyone (especially, Ray, Fireman Dave, Aron and Dave Goerend) for such a great weekend! I felt like I was in heaven! We have a great bunch of people here and look forward to getting together again! We got home just before 4pm and didn't run into rain until Rochester. If anyone is ever in the Land of 10K Lakes and wants to get together, shoot me an email.

Kat Diesel, the numbers may be sensitive to some #ad

Thanks again for such a great time!
