Directions to TX. Meeting

Helping abused children

I just got off the phone with Dave Goerand. He will be ready for us at 9:AM Saturday, and would like to be done by 5 or 5:30. Sunday, if we have people wanting another run, or who weren't able to make it Saturday, he will be ready for us at noon or 1:pM. He will also have 2 garage bays open for us, and I think he said they both had a hoist - I know that one of them does. He won't have anyone available to "help", but I'm sure we'll have plenty of people that can help. If it is a nice day, we can do "whatever you want" in the parking lot, also.

Spread the word - this should be a good time, and the money raised is for a good cause.

Looking forward to meeting more of you. I'm still hoping to have banjo bolts in production by then, but this week hasn't helped that situation!

The event is going to be in St. Lucas. Ray has his shop in Ossian, should we need anything. The campground is going to be in Decorah. Let us know if this is what you are looking for.

Dave, i will take you up on the offer to camp on your site with my tent. And if i get there before you, I will pick a site so you can park the Taj Mahl on.

Aron, I have the 24v, and would appreciate you bringing the tools. I bought the Bully Dog Step 2's. I just hope they get here before then, should be here by friday.

Also I would like to third the group feed idea, but I ain't much of a cook, so I can supply materials. Just need an idea on what to bring.

See you all then. Jason

I will be there Saturday morning. I'm planning to go right to Goerends.

I would appreciate if the Mrs & I (still trying to get used to that) could pitch our tent at someones site Saturday night if the place fills up or there are no adjacent sights.

I will probably bring injectors to change. I have the little slide hammer deal for the 12 valve. You are welcome to use it on your over valve trucks if it will fit. I will bring tools too. Aron, do I need anything special to clean the head? Joe D. suggested Q-tips, I will pressure wash the area ahead of time if I get the chance. I don't think there is too much difference in the injector changing job, just that your's are on the wrong side. #ad

Good work on the maps Aron! I finally got the ball/stud out of the axle. I'll bring the carnage if anybody wants a look. I'd have had it back together if I hadn't returned the socked I thought I didn't need. #ad
Oh well, baseline readings tomorrow night. Might start on the torque convertor.

Group feed sounds like fun. I'll see if I can get Linda to make her triple chocolate brownies, they go good with beer. #ad

Eric

Q-tips should work. I will probably help Jason with his first though. I've done those before and they should go pretty quick. Although, once he gets started, he should be able to go prety fast on his own. They are really easy. Then I could break away and help you.
As far as your rig, I'm 12v stupid. But injectors shouldn't be tough. Your's are outside of the valve covers. 24v's have them inside. Right down the middle

I wanted to let you guys know I've invited someone with a DMAX from SE MN. He is getting a new exhaust and would like to see if there is any improvement. I also thought it would be nice to see some different rigs and maybe mend some fences, as not everyone on the GM site has issues. This guy is a little apprehensive so BE CIVIL. If you find some more people, invite them along. It is for a good cause.

Hey, anybody who's burning diesel is ok by me. Just because he has a different taste in trucks than us doesn't mean he isn't a good guy. How boring would this world be if we all liked the exact same thing? Hmmm, does that mean WE'RE boring because we all like the same thing? #ad

Hey, check it out - 4 pages on this topic!

Thanks Aron. I don't anticipate any troubles. Of course, that's usually half the problem...

I'd like to see a DMax up close.
It'll be interesting to see what it puts out for ponies too.

Many TDR members do not drive 12 or 24 valved engines. Some drive 16 valved units. I assume we'll be getting 32 valved units in the near future, if they're not already here. (If Daimler-Chrysler doesn't hurry up with a 4-door, I may defect as well due to a growing family. )

I had the pleasure to be part of the NW Bombers before moving from Seattle to NW Minnesota. The NW BOMBers has members, from at least, Washington, Idaho, & Oregon. I was part of the BOMBvoy from Seattle to BD Dyno days last October. We had 20+ Dodge Rams CTD units and a Ford PSD in the 'voy.

We were running slow (speed limit?) to give the guys with 4. 10's a break. -¿ Õ
A couple of potato trucks passed us on the freeway. The CB chatter from them was absolutely priceless when they realized it was a Dodge CTD convoy. I was trailing Steve in his Ford PSD. I dang near split a gut when one of the drivers was talking about the nice lineup of (properly powered) Dodge Pickups when He suddenly blurts, "Hey! What's this Ford doing in there" and the other driver replied with something about wishful thinking.

Wish I could join you for the meet in Iowa. I'm now 300 miles from the Twin Cities so that makes a long drive for a weekend jaunt. Hope you have a great time!

Cheers;

John E

John E. , too bad you can't make it! I talk to Rob Hanson all the time through AOL IM about all the fun you guys have had with the NW Bombers.

Aron, don't worry, we won't pick on your Duramax buddy too much #ad
I think it will be interesting to see that engine.

Anyone have any ideas for the cookout? Maybe we bring our own meat and then a sidedish or salad to pass? I'm always concerned about where my next meal is coming from #ad

Can't wait until that weekend!

Paul

Just got the new computer up and running!! I plan on leaving Friday around 3:30 with the travel trailer, wife, and dog. If someone needs a place to put a tent, they can stay on our site.

My fuel pressure senders/gauge should be here before I show up, so if anyone wants to help out with that install, it should be fun.

I still need to get a mounting bracket for the senders and find some tubing.

The fella with the DMAX is planning on coming down Saturday Morning and leaving Saturday evening. I think he is in Mankato, MN. He wanted to know if there is anyone he could convoy with. If not he'll be there anyway.

Nemies, I have alot of aluminum angle here at work. Let me know what dimensions you might need and I will see if I can get a piece for you.

My buddy and I are planning on showing up early on Saturday morning. I cancelled the room and we are just going to tent it. So I would appreciate anyone allowing a tent on their RV site. Probably won’t get there in time to get my own. I have a set of Bullydog II injectors coming along with their boost module. They came a 15 hp gain over the PS module so if someone would let me borrow their PS for a dyno run, I would like to compare the two. Ray, how are the banjo bolts going? I am hoping to do a before and after with my new Autometer fuel pressure gauge (if it gets here in time)
Looking forward to meeting everyone.
Eric

'Luminum? You got 'luminum?

I would like to check out the lift pump on my 12 valve. Mine has the early "sealed" pressure regulator valve on it. I suppose I need the newer one to test? I see Piers has them for an affordable rate, I'll pick one up before next weekend.

It is official, I am not going to be able to make it out. I am bummed, but there is always next time. Thanks to Ray and Dave for setting this up, you guys ROCK! Catch you at the next event, Howard.

I have a quick question about the campground, Is it a state park and if so, we then need to buy a park sticker right?
Thanks
Jason
