Extreme1,
I don't know how much that tip is good for. You'll have to ask the last rice-boy I whooped. #ad

Eight, eight happy campers. HA, HA, HA!
I don't think we would run into problems until we break the dozen or so mark. I'll be posting directions soon. Anyone have any ideas for evening entertainment? Food ideas? Maybe a couple of nights of pass the dish type stuff or Grilling or some combination. Breakfast? Anyone?

A cruise is a must, I would think. We could also have a little meeting to discuss where our little group goes from here. Aron, do you know the hook-up situation at the campground?

I'm still in, but I'll be driving in on Saturday morning now, instead of saturday night. Also, Aron, you have me listed with a camper, but I won't have one. I'll be tenting it. #ad

Nemies, sorry 'bout that. Got 'er fixed now.

So far I have tallied 6 campers and two tents. Again, I don't see a problem with getting in. I will be getting directions and posting them on Tuesday. As far as where the tents are going to go, I figured we could work something out to have them on the same spot as one of the campers. To keep things more centrally located.

Dave, you shoulda heard everyone ask me what was going on the weekend you guys were here. They thought the town was being invaded by Dodge diesels. It really raised quite a stink. #ad
A cruise would be fun, and I will see what ideas come to mind. Maybe there would be some local spot to hang out and check out some really good looking classics. Or maybe I'm just dreaming. Anyway, I'll keep posting things as I find them out.

I just wanted to let you know that I am 90% sure that I will be coming down. I'm shooting to come down friday night but may not be until Saturday morning early. I would appreciate someone sending me any necessary details (Directions, food aragnements, plans, prices, etc. ) I will be tenting it, I can bring food, or other items, just need to know what. Also I bought some injectors, and they should be here in time to bring them with. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to help me install them since I lack the necessary tools. Thanks, see you guys then.

Hey, that's what it's all about. Give the people something to talk about! #ad

I'll be there early Sat morning. I plan on tenting it if the weather permits, otherwise, I'll most likely leave Sat night. Let me know if there is anything that I can bring for the get-together. Also, if anyone has the directions to the campgroung and to Goerend Bros(sp. ) if they could send them to me it would be appreciated. Thanks, and look forward to the meeting.

This may get you a map I looked at. St. Lucas is South of Hwy 24 (24 runs between Calmar, and New Hampton), or West of Hwy 150, or north of Hwy 18. Main hwy's into the area, Hwy 52 from the north, or southeast. Hwy 63 from the north or south (to New Hampton - east on 24 to Fort Atkinson, and south on county blacktop to St. Lucas). There are signs for St. Lucas on county blacktops going west from Hwy 150, or north off Hwy 18.

If anybody wants me to bring them Amsoil, e-mail me with what you want and to get prices.

Tried to replace u-joint and ball joints this weekend on right side. U-joint part went OK, lower ball joint stuck BIG TIME! Looks like I have to go tool shopping tomorrow, my seperator can't fit around a 1-1/4" wide joint. Big stuff. Needed to borrow a 1-11/16 and 1-5/16 sockets from a friend of mine.

Aron,

If you're going to talk to them, can you ask them about getting the sites? What I mean is, if one of us gets there early, can we snag a bunch of sites for the guys we know are still coming?

By the way, Ray and I are working on a schedule for the weekend. I'll post here and email when we get it refined. I'm thinking a campfire on Friday night for the early arrivals to start with. It looks like we have the dyno all day Sat. and maybe Sun if we want it. Ray is checking on this. We're talking about a meeting and cookout Sat. night. Maybe a cruise in there somewhere too. Anyone have other suggestions?

Dave

Finally! I got those effing maps to work.

The place we are going to is the Decorah City Campground. It is at 505 Pulpit Rock Road, Decorah, IA, 52101-9353. The Phone Number is (319)382-9941.

I talked to my buddy last night and found out a few things. First off, it is $15/night per site at the campground. Each site has electrical but no water or sewer connections. There is a water fill and dumping station on the premesis and that is included in the cost of the site. They have a pretty good shower facility also. The guys with tents are allowed to pitch a tent on the same site as a camper, if the site user agrees. I figure that way the cost of a site could be split amongst some people. Campfire sites are provided and a grill top is also provided for the campfires. I think that is pretty much it. The sites are available first come first serve. But whoever gets there first, see if you can grab at least 6 more sites that are close to each other. If not, I am not worried that we will be able to get sites. They may not be centrally located, but we will all have a place to stay. As a side note, this campground is where all the Decorah firefighters hang out to unwind. Don't be surprised to see a few of them around.

Some other notes. I have it on good authority that the Decorah city cops are dinks. This will have to be a determining factor in any cruise that may be planned. The county guys aren't as bad, but the city boys are the Freudian definition of Cop.

There is a pizza place that everyone goes to in town. It's called Mabe's. If we decide to go, we should probably call ahead. And there will definately be a wait.
For those of you needing a hotel, there is also a hotel not too far from the campground. It's the Country Inn. Let me know if you guys need some more information on the place.

That's about all I know for now. Drop me a line if more information is needed.

Dave and Ray, if you guys need a grill or anything, let me know. I thought a breakfast Saturday or Sunday morning would be neat. Or dinner Saturday night. Or both. If someone is planning on some mods, let us know so that we can bring tools if needed. If anyone thinks of something else...

Excellent work, Aron! Thanks a bunch. I'm leaning toward taking my daughter out of school early to get down there earlier on Friday.

I think there will be some mods going on, so tools would be good. I'm planning on helping Paul hook up his boost gauge now that I'm a veteran of that operation. #ad
I'll have my tools with me.

I like the group feed ideas. A lot of good fellowship happens when chowing down together.

Dave

Remember, Luther College's graduation is this same weekend - eating places in Decorah will be full!!! I will be that the closest motel rooms will be West Union, or New Hampton. Both are closer to Goerands than Decorah. If someone is desperate, I have a pop-up and a tent that I could make available. Ray

Just wanted to thank Ray, Dave & Aaron for organizing this event. I won't have time to install the boost gauge before then so I will be bringing it with. Anyone with a tent is welcome to pitch it on our site. Also, I will be bringing a small gas grill. It is small, but at least it is something.

Paul

Also would like to say thanks to those who put this togeather.

I am planing on leaving the twin cities around noon on friday, and don't have any idea on how long of a trip it is going to be. I will be tenting it, and would like to pitch it on someones site if avaliable.

I also will be bringing some injectors to install, and would apreciate some help, and I dont know what special tools I may need. Anyone up for this? Thanks in advance.

I just reserved a room at the Howard Johnsons in New Hampton for Sat. nite. The phone # is(641)394-4145 if anyone needs it. The woman working there tonite said they had some rooms left for that nite if somebody is in need of one. Resturant and lounge nearby.

Wally19, If you have a 24v, I'll bring my tools. You'll need an in-lb. torque wrench, ft-lb torque wrench, and some stubby wrenches. I can bring those too. I've done them twice. And we could probably get you done in about 2-2 1/2 hours. BTW, what are you installing?

I've made up another map to Ray's shop. Here it is.

There was one other thing I wanted to point out about the campground. Take the northern road (Pulpit Rock Road) to get into the campground. I say this for two reasons. First, that is where the office is to check in and get your site. Second, Madison Road(?) has a one lane, wooden plank bridge that you'd have to cross to get into the campground. I wouldn't recommend that with our "heavier than the average truck" Rams.

I also want to second the group feed idea. Breakfast would be good too. And besides, I've got a secret recipie for wings that will make you see God.
