Guys,
I may have just screwed myself. I am currently taking classes for Firefighter Cert II and my practical evaluation examination is sceduled for the 19th. I cannot miss this. However, I should be able to be there on Sunday. At least to run on the Dyno. I would really like to be there both days. I may even try to make it there Saturday night for some campfire tales. But I cannot make any promises. I will try my best to be there. So save me a spot, unless otherwise noted. Thanks.

Don't worry, Aron, we'll save you a spot. And you better make it for at least part of it! #ad

Good luck with the test. You won't have any problems.

Dave

I can make that one also. Clutch #7 will be done by then also for the dyno thing. I'll bring the trailer for whatever motor tools and stuff will be needed. Hope you make it, Lurch... T

Well, as with all things (it seems) with this state, my exam date has changed. I will now be taking the test in June. I can't seem to get any love for taking these tests in this state. Oh well, this will be it for a while.

So I will be able to make it for both days. What a relief! My wife may not, but my Firefighter compadre may bring his wife along and they will be joining us.

Count me in. I am planning on staying in a hotel/motel (did enough camping in the Army) so if someone has made reservations, please let me know what some options are. The girlfriend is heading to a horse show so I will just be me.
Thanks,
Eric

I'll be there with wife and dog. It would be nice (for all us campers) if we could all find the same campground to stay at #ad

Check out the motels in West Union, or New Hampton. Decorah will be full of Luther College graduates and their parents. I need to check out the campground just south of St. Lucas, at Gouldsburg. It appears to be a county campground, but I haven't had a chance to check out the details. Ray

Ray, I was talking to the Firefighter buddy of mine and he recommended the Decorah camp ground. I guess it is a first come, first serve deal. He says that it would probably be better to get everyone on the North side of the campground. What do you think? Any other ideas?
BTW my buddies' last name is Aschbacher. His dad says he knows you. Is this true?

The campground at Decorah is definately first rate, and at the top of the list. However, it is Luther College's homecoming the appointed weekend (why didn't they check with me???) I don't know how many parents/grandparents, etc. , may also be camping. It may not be a big deal, or???? It also gaurantees that the restaurants in Decorah will be busy. The campground is first come/first serve, so those who wish to stay at Decorah should come early.

Yes, Aschbacher is a familiar name.

Throttle down!

Well gang, I am going to make an attempt to be in Decorah Friday night. If anyone wants to make a (heaven forbid) convoy (forgive me C. W. McCall) of it, lemme kno. I am planning on getting there around 5pm. So I will be leaving my house around 3:30. Of course, concessions can be made if someone needs a more loose time table. BTW, for those of you bringing campers, what are you bringing? I am curious. I am guessing that the one with the biggest 5th wheel will probably have the meeting area at thier site. If that's not okay, we could use our site. But the accommodations would be tight, if the weather turns sour. Anyone with suggestions?

I'll be pulling my new 27 footer. I'll be arriving Friday night and staying until Sunday. I wonder if the first guy there could stake out a group of sites. We should try to get ahold of the campground to see what their rules are in that regard. I probably won't get there until 8:00pm or so - maybe earlier. I'll have my wife with me and maybe my 9 year old daughter. Can't wait! #ad

I'll be coming in on Saturday night, leaving Sunday night. Camping sounds like the way to go. #ad

Will be bringing my girlfriend along, too.

Mr Fireman... I sent you an email...

I will be coming with the wife and dog on Friday. The wife has to work until 4:00 (unless she can leave early). Hope to get there early enough for a campsite. #ad

I stopped by Dave's this evening. He had done some work on the dyno, and wanted to re-run my truck since it was the last one he tested. Got the juices flowing yet guys??? While test driving we also checked out the campground at Gouldsburg, just a few miles south of St. Lucas. It is a beautiful, peaceful spot in the country along the river. Waucoma also has a campground, and there are restaurants in both St. Lucas and Waucoma. (Even in small towns. )

How are folks doing with motel reservations?

Dave also wondered if any of the big HP guys had slicks to run??? We will have weights of the inanimate kind, and also probably won't lack for bodies to jump in if slippage becomes a problem.

My new turbo should be in by then. Would I qualify for slicks? I suppose I'd better bring the mother-in-law and the boat anchor (one in the same?). #ad

BTW, I'll talk to my buddy about the Decorah camp ground. He is pals with the manager of the ground. I don't know about holding spots. But if we knew a number of sure bets, I would assume that we could work something out. We can nail this down a little better the closer the weekend gets.

Amianthus, you were the one we were thinking about when the topic of slicks came up. I think the high hp rigs will have to run on the "accelorometer" (sp?) setting, and traction may be more of an issue than for those who can run on the regular setting where you can run the speed up to whatever rpm you like and then apply a constant load. I obviously don't understand everything I've heard about the dyno issues. I'm starting to get excited about this and it is still several weeks out! ray

"Hi Everybody,
My name is Eric and I'm a, ah... . a BOMBaholic. "

If things go according to plan (like they always do, right?) I will have my new TC installed by then. I would like to do a before run, a "with 215 injectors" run and a "with injectors and 14 cm housing" run.

But first a couple questions: Are we going to be at the dyno on both days or just Saturday? If it is one day, will there be enough time? Enough beer? I have never done a housing or injectors, (but I have had the turbo off) can somebody who has help to speed things along? Does anybody have an injector removal tool?

My Wife (will be then) and I are planning on tent camping unless the weather turns bad, then I'll see if we can sneak into the back of fireman Dave's truck. #ad
