I am a previous second gen guy. Luckily, I never had the VP44 die on me. I need to know where and who sells the best STOCK VP44 for a '99 automatic. Industrial Injection? How do I know if it is an OFFICIAL Bosch rebuild? Thanks for the help

got mine from midwest fuel injection in illinois, they only charged you core fee if you didnt return the core and they included return shipping label as well.

Dave:)

How did their pump work out?

My first pump that failed was on the '02; replaced it with a Blue Chip, and haven't had any problems in over three years and 100k. The second pump I had to replace was on my '01; used a MWFI on that one, and haven't had any problems with it yet in two years and around 40k. I think MWFI has the best bargain.

Got mine @ Bosch VP44 Dodge Injection Pump :: VP 44 Diesel Fuel Injection Pump.

Good folks, ordered over the phone on a Wednesday, arrived Friday, I installed and back on line Saturday. Read the "rebuilt by certified Bosch tech and have been tested on a test stand for 4hrs before the pump is sent to you. " and the rest of the statements about the process. Call them up and the others suggested as well and chat a bit, $1k ain't chump change and you need to feel comfortable and informed.

They also don't charge you for core, unless you don't return it in 30 days, and shipping both ways is included. They send you a return UPS label inside the box w/new pump. Also include new check/psi valve, sealing washers, etc. Mine was an original SO pump (168k when it died) and I replaced it with another SO.

I replaced mine in march this year with one from Midwest just as Joe MC stated. I looked around alot and noticed that prices varied some, but the warranties seemed to be the same. 1 year. Do your homework and buy from who you feel comfortable with. Randy

I got an MWFI and have a FASS150 lift pump. DONT FORGET TO GET A GOOD LIFT PUMP or ANY VP will FAIL!
I have well over 600hp and put over 40k miles on it and no VP issues since install.

Looking too

I'm in the same boat. My 02 is down in need of a new vp44. This will be my 3rd. The first went around 80k and was replaced under warranty. I now have about 240k. I was looking at the Blue Chip, but $1700 vs $1000 from MWFI (stock).

For the people that got theirs from MWFI, did you get the stock or the Hotrod pump? For those who got the stock pump, did you notice your mileage come back like Blue Chip says their stock pump will? I'm not talking about their X pump. For those who got the Hotrod pump, do you think it was worth the extra $$?

Thanks!

I won't go in to whom to get the pump from, but I would suggest you stick with a stock pump; I think you will be happier. When I installed the stock pump from MWFI, I didn't really see any improvement in mileage, but then again I went with bigger injectors at the same time... :-laf

MWFI injection as well, friendly and knowledgable, even called to make sure the install went ok and to remind me to send the core back in time. 2 1/2 years, 35k and no problem.

Pensacola Diesel. Good folks, fast service and they do NOT charge you for the core, unless you don't return it in the allotted time. Return label included in the box with your new/rebuilt pump. Changed mine out two years ago at 144k miles. I have 167k on it now. Price was right too.
