I ordered a transmission filter from Geno's this time (and last) and got a different looking filter. The filter on the truck now is all 'fabric' and uses 3 torx head bolts. The one Geno's sent me this time is metal cased and only has two bolt holes. What do I do?

The nearest dodge dealer's parts counter is closed today (as I'm sure most are) and I'm headed to O'Reilly's as I gotta get to work tomorrow. I'll check in when I get back. The pan is drained and off the transmission with bolts and tools (and a little transmission fluid) scattered around the driveway.

Thanks in advance.

So the fabric filter is listed as for a '97 transmission. As I recall (I don't put that many miles on Olga so it's been a while) the all fabric filter was recommended to me as better filtration. My question to all the learned folks on the TDR is... which one is better to keep her healthy?

My guess is that the third bolt would just get tightened all the way in if I use the full metal one.

I'm going to take a breather check back, then eenee meenee minee moe it...
