Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Need new APPS?

where is the best place to get APPS, money wise! Does anyone have the knowledge to repair one of these? thanx

I just replaced mine a couple of weeks ago. Went to Cummins and they said Chrysler had a restriction on them and they could not get one. Had to go to the dealership to get it for $392, the one for autos was around $500-600.

Only available from dealer here in canada. Replaced mine last year cost 600. 00 with taxes. ouch

Do a search on "cleaning APPS". There was a guy that showed how to drill a hole and clean one out. Risky procedure, but if you're gonna replace anyway. It may be worth a shot before dropping the $$'s.

he has them every once in a while, not real sure his name i tried to find it for you but it was a long time ago i got it. yes it was buy it now.

The details to fixing the APPS are in issue 54 pg. 40 of TDR magazine. It explains how to clean the apps with contact cleaner, but that only works sometimes.
