Was on the on-ramp coming up to speed in 5th when the tach hit 2400 it was like a govener(sp) kicked on. Tach dropped to about 1900, I shifted to 6th and all seamed fine. Got to an area with no traffic and slowed down, shifted to 5th, and it did it again. This time I put the go pedal on the floor, nothing happened until about 18-1900. It picked back up to 2400 and laid down again. Anyway to make this short. I parked it for about 2 hrs. Just went for a drive and it still does it, plus now in 6th with the cruse set at 70mph it wants to drop off till about 64mph then back to 70mph. No check engine light. Do I have the dreaded lift pump going out or what?

It is an 02 HO 6spd, Superchips tuner, with 42000 miles on it. Now what?

unfortunatly no guage. I did use a code reader and found P0216-Fuel Inj Pump Timing Failure. Is this known as the lift pump or the injector pump on the engine. I hope it falls under the 7/70 warrenty.

Take the Superchips tuning out and put the "stock" software back in first. There are two "Shrader" Valves in the fuel system, that you can test the lift pump pressure, it should be around 12 psi or so. Also, Geno's Garage sells an adaptor hose for a cockpit Fuel Pressure Gauge, that hooks up to it.
