I'm lookin for answers as to how I can bomb my truck to beat a bombed 2nd gen. The 2000 ctd has an edge comp (no pump connection), a FMS, intake, and straight pipe. This truck runs like a stripped ape.

I've already got a VA c3. 2, intake, and straight pipe on my 2005, but I'm looking for a good combo to beat his. I'd also like to blow as much if not more smoke on him like he's been doing to me for almost a year.

Just a little tired of getting walked on by someone who bought a truck I pieced together. Used to have the badest cummins in the area. Would like to regain my status. All input is appreciated. You guys know a lot more than I do. Also, is there a way to keep the rail from running dry. I've seen that problem talked about, but haven't seen a solution yet. Thanks Jason

Ya think the C3. 2 plus the 3. 1 will be enough? I know those two will compliment each other by working together.

I know for a fact the 3. 2 stacked with an ez makes a big difference. If the 3. 1 is like the ez it will also make alot of smoke.

My brothers 04. 5 runs with me & he only has a AFE, Dual exhaust, EZ & T-dog. Not even a turbo upgrade. He stays side by side till 4th gear... then he gets the soot cloud.

Stack the 3. 1 with the 3. 2. The 3. 1 does pressure. Or the smarty!!

exellent advise on the 3. 1 stacked with the 3. 2. it does well, smarty and the 3. 2 will smoke like crazy but egt's will be through the roof

the smarty and the 3. 1 on the other hand is a great stack. you will walk him for sure.

How about a Juice w/Attitude? that should make the truck beat the 2nd gen. My brother had the T-dog & always beat me when I had a comp only. That was before he had the Crazy Larry.

that juice works fine but we found that the more exended rpm you had the more the edge would try to defuel and jump down to the lowest level, i only see it on the modded trucks except on one 04. 5 we did see it on a basically stock truck. edge will replace it if it fails, they have good customer service too.

you sure thats all thats done to the 2nd gen? from what i remember when i had a ez, i couldnt even begin to hang with my brothers 3rd gen bully dogged on tow setting... if its making alot of smoke the pump wire is probably tapped. . just thinkin outloud

63% fuel enhancement from the blue box is what makes him pull away. I've got him on the low end of things, but when i defuel at 90 mph he starts walking away.

Does your 05 have the G56 or the NV5600. At 100 MPH I'm at 3200 RPM with the stock 265's on so I can't do much more than that. If you have the G56 then you are at redline at 90 I would think looking at the ratio in 6th for that trans. Are you sure you really want to fuel it much past that without addressing the valve train first?

NV5600 with 285/70s i can run 115... . my van aaken just runs out at 90 mph... I suppose a box with high end would compliment the va nicely

Thats the biggest short fall of the 3. 2 it doesn't fuel very hard up top, even stacked with a 3. 1 or ez it may not pull like you want. If you really want to smoke him you may have to go with something entirely different.

the 3. 2 has one of the longest power bands that i know of, maybe it's in need of a update or something talk to don @ va and tell him your issues he will take care of you for sure.

When i say it defuels at 90, i should have said the va completely drops out and the rest is all motor... . which still pulls its weight, but its just not enough to beat that 2nd gen... . For all I know the va might drop out due to heat, but even running 85 and then turning the va on, it doesn't have the upper end
