Well my Drag UFM was becoming unresponsive and freezing so I called the good folks at Edge. No problem, send it in and we will send you a new one. That was on the 20th. Gethome today and guess what was waiting for me... ... . Wow that was fast :cool:

Anyways, I went out and installed it and decided to take a test spin. With the old box I was maxing at 57 psi... ... well with the new box I maxed at 51. :{ :{ :{

What now, did I have a "special box" before. It does so happen that I took off the High-Ram intake and re-installed the stocker but that cannot be the reason for a 6psi drop on 5x5. Needless to say when I got home I checked my intake bolts and cinched them down alittle more but I don't think it is a boost leak. One thing I did different this time that I did not before when I was at my peak was drive in 4 wheel drive. It has rained all day so my tires kept breaking loose when excellerating. However this shouldn't have any effect. Unless the ECM detunes the motor when in 4wheel but I don't think so. Hopefully on my way to work tomorrow the roads will be dry so I can try a couple of full throttle runs in 2wheel drive but if that doesn't help I will re-install the High-Ram. However everything I read tells me that the intake will not make a difference. It doesn't seem that my fuel pressures at WOT is any higher but then would 1 psi be noticeable? I am REALLY bummed out... ... . :( :( :(

One thing I will do is have a pressure test to see if I do indeed have a boost leak. But it looks like I will need to re-dyno and update my sig to some lower numbers. :{ :{

With the high ram were you reading boost at the ram and with the stocker are you getting it at the head? That could make the differance.

BOOST LOSS

If you are spinning the tires, then the engine isn't going to see as much load. No load, no boost! Try it again when traction is better and let us know if the boost is back. .

Well sunny here today so I was able to open it up on the freeway. 52 PSI is my max now. Don't get me wrong... . the truck runs fine but a loss of 5 psi seems like that would be alot of fuel. Readings were taken from the some spot, (manifold) and like I said, the only difference is the box and the intake. What do ya'll think? Should I call Edge and talk with tech support.

When we would super tune the big cats people would call and complain that there boost had droped, only a few pounds but it was down. When asked how it ran they would say GREAT but less boost. You can make more boost by retarding timing but it doesnt make it right, If it is running great and fells good dont worry about the boost reading. Maybe the timming in this box is different and causing the lowwer boost, doesnt mean its wrong.

The original was a Diesel Dynamics Ultimate Fueling Modules that I bought from Piers. This one came back from Edge in a Comp cover but I did tell them that I wanted the UFM programming though I have no way of telling whether that is truly what I have. Even though... would a Comp produce 5 psi less then a UFM just because of the timing. That seems a bit much. Is there a way to tell whether I got the Edge timing or the DD timing.
