This (cummins email) still makes the best sense to me. That and the fact that the 04 prices are very close to the 03s is most compelling re: no EGR until January.



I tell you what though -- when that sales manager in Bellevue, WA told me of HP/TQ changes and emmissions for all of 2004 beginning with the July build, my stomach just about turned upside down and i wasn't the same all weekend. Its enough for me to file a complaint with the BBB if I find out what he said was in fact false. Dealers' shouldn't play with your emotions like that

Yes, and what about all the talk of the new egr being mated with a new turbo, and the new turbo being exhaust brake compatible etc. They said first build 04's would have the 'hardware' but wont be able to do exhaust brakes till the software upgrade in jan. I wonder if that 'upgrade' turns on the EGR equipment that's going to be already there on the 04's? God I hope there's no EGR on early 04's.
