WHICH system does "Chris" use? Sounds like the variable, user setable unit would be the better approach. Sure would like more info as these units see more installations and use, especially in heavy pulling situations - gotta keep ahead of those PowerSmokes...

Well guys, I just got off the phone with Keith from Diesel Performance. He is setting up a Fully adjustable Powershot 2000 system for Ol' Wheezer. It is adjustable for total amount of boost, total amount of propane and at which boost level it is activated. I should be getting the system by the end of the week. It WILL be installed this weekend. I will give you guys a rundown on the difficulty or ease of install, along with my impressions of the system after a few test runs. Oh by the way, Brian I think you are going to enjoy this thing on your truck, good luck with your install.
Don

Thanks, I'll let ya know how it goes.

I got an e=mail from BIG DQ on the 21st; he was going to e-mail me some pics of his install but have yet to hear from him. Hope everything went ok.

I installed the PowerShot 2000 yesterday and it does everything that they advertise. I can't say anything about the other propane systems out there, but the Powershot 2000 comes on real smooth and delivers the propane in a very driveable way. The power comes on so smooth that you don't realize it, untill you shut the system off. Then you think to yourself s**t this thing rocks !

The propane is regulated by the amount of boost you apply to it, the more boost the more propane. There is an ajustable boost valve that is installed in the cab,so you can vary the amount of power that you want. Real neat feature.

Keith, at Powershot 2000 is very helpful and willing to put up with alot of phone calls. I had to be convinced that this was a good system and after many phone calls, I beleive that it is.

I'm still fine tuning the system, to fit my needs alittle better. But over all this system is worth every dollar.

My egt's appear to have remained the same.

Brian,
I am considering getting the same system, and glad to hear from people that have installed it and liked it.
When I talked to Keith at Powershot, he did not mention anything about an adjustable in-cab boost valve. I was told the adjustment screws on the regulator is how the boost and propane flow were controlled. Sounds like I need to call him back and ask about this feature. That sounds way cool!

Brian, do you have any safety concerns about this system. Quality of the hardeware, hoses, tank hook-up, proximity to heat?

Just got Issue 29 today, a little late I might add, check out the thread on propane injection; not a raving endorsement. Does anyone that has installed one of these systems have any DYNO #'S: VENDORS EXCLUDED.

arar, the quality of the Powershot 2000 is as good as it gets. I've no problem with the workmanship or the components that make up the kit.

My thinking on safty is about the same as it is with anything else that I've added to my engine. Know what your getting into and TRY to stay with in the limits of its operation.

I by no means know it all when it comes to propane injection. I just follow the venders instructions, call if nessary and it has been. Then let the system run like it should.

I'm very pleased with this set up. Do I endorse it, Yes. Is it for everybody, No. I say that if your intrested in a propane system, take alook at this one. It's a good deal for the money.

Juat got my system today. I'm going to install it tomorrow I'll let you all know how it goes. I could have had it sooner but Brian recieved Kieth's last adjustable boost valve. so I had to wait till he got another one in. From what Kieth told me, if you are running stock, or near stock horsepower levels, you will not need the adjustable boost valve. But when your boost levels get near or above 45# or so you need it to limit the total amount of boost to the propane valve.

Any more feedback from those that have installed and running the system? Also, has anyone adjusted the boost setting or changed the flow orifice? What does detonation sounds like, and how do you know if it is occurrng?

I installed the system on Sunday and looking to compare my setup with others that are running this system, or anyone else that is running propane, feel free to chime in here.
