Here is the update:

No B checks were performed. A checks were OK and they Skipped B (per procedure). They apparently skipped weld step C3 (check to see if the torquing affected steering wheel center) , see photo. It looks like the steering wheel is about 15 degrees to the left of center when the truck is straight.

Way to go Jack Powell Dodge in Escondido, California!

Even after two conversations with their service manager about my concerns (and online activity here) the job was NOT done per the recall procedure.

Looks like they also skipped the weld dressing prior to paint (step C8)

The weld also has slag and lacks penetration in one area (see full size photo)

Next step: Synergy Draglink to restore steering wheel center.

Go team FCA!!!! At least the engine can be counted on! :D

No one is going to weld one my truck without showing that they are a certified welder. Snoking

I bought a 2015 3500 mega cab DRW after the dealer got my money they told me that there is a recall and can't be delivered in till the recall is performed. FCA isn't telling me when they will have fix i have ask if they can install a Synergy link and i will pay for it and the FCA rep said nope. I replied that that's what i'm going to do when i get home anyways. I start a case # with FCA and i have a feeling that going to get me nowhere anybody have any ideas i have already made a payment on my trade and new truck.

Time to get one of those guys involved, what do they call them, oh yeah attorneys! They do not plan to address 2015 until December. Or ask for a new one as a loaner until yours is ready for delivery. They violated FCA rules for selling it to you.

Be careful .. I was told if the recall is not cleared any other warranty claims-work will not be performed …. I would wait and see what shakes out and keep eye on it
for awhile, slight chance they will step up and replace the link with the updated link ( 68338342AB ) but that would cut into their profits ….
Seems like our choices are

Check the link periodically and wait couple months to see if they offer the new link for the fix

Or have them weld it , clear the recall- then go buy Synergy link and replace out of pocket
then submit claim which will go nowhere .. But at least its fixed

At this point weld it, bubble gum or hopes and dreams i have the Synergy sitting here wait to go in. but they are not doing the 2015 yet which is holding this up.

I would try to establish when they knew about the recall. If they knew and didn't tell you...

I'm going to make a guess that you have two options:
walk on the deal
wait until they can accomplish the recall
I don't expect that the dealer would even try to hold you to the deal if they can't even provide a date when they could accomplish the recall.

Why say that the claim will go "nowhere"? Isn't it better to say that the claim will it go first to FCA so they can do the right thing (write the check). Then if no joy there the claim should go right to small claims court in your local jurisdiction and to NHTSA.

Sometimes, to do a job right, you just have to do it yourself.

To repeat, this dealer is in a pickle with you. They have your money and you can NOT have the vehicle they sold you, yet. AGAIN, ask them what they are going to loan you to drive! This may have to go on until December. The dealer screwed up, hold their feet to the fire! If you have a loan on the MC, ask also for them to make the payments until you get it.

In addressing the later models first, then the earlier ones, is FCA trying to help the dealers with inventory, while putting us with earlier models and more miles on the drag link under greater risk of a complete steering failure? SnoKing

Does anybody know .. If you do the replacement with the Synergy link instead of them welding the old link how does that work with the recall, do you take the truck to the dealer and they inspect the install then they clear the recall ?

That is a question only FCA can answer. Most likely not. They filed with the NHTSA with your vin agreeing to do specified work on the truck.
