Picking up a new to me truck later this week, newest truck I've ever driven. Truck is a 2018 Ram 3500 SRW MegaCab Limited with Tungsten package and Aisin transmission. Truck has a rare color combination with white on the exterior and a black interior. I'm somewhat familiar with these trucks but I was just wondering if there's anything I should know about this truck upon ownership. Any weird quirks and such that you guys recommend I should know. I know that changing lube oil can be a disaster because of the way its positioned in the truck.

Most likely going to have the undercarriage sprayed by Krown rust protection, endless someone on here persuades me otherwise.

Truck only has 15k miles and she's loaded. From I/P mounted Aux switches to auto level air suspension. Probably going to change fuel filters as soon as I get the truck just be sure and dealer said they're changing lube oil for me.

Thanks in advance!

Pics or it never happened :)
Good luck on what sounds like an awesome ride!
Getting used to the regenerations and the SCR/ DEF system would be your big challenge.
There are tricks and filter relocation kits to deal with the oil filter. I’m sure 4 gen guys will chime in here.

Truck looks sweet.......and most importantly, the auto level rear air suspension will be certain to make @Cummins12V98 sooooooo pleased!

If the truck has 15k miles on it.....see if you can persuade the dealer to toss in the fuel filters.....either installed or carry out.

Thanks everyone!!

I've been searching for about 6 months now, no joke, on and off of buying a new truck.. or getting a 19... and stumbled across this on Car Gurus. Got a decent price on it, and had to have it. I'm not extremely crazy about the white, but it'll do. It has all the little options I like, like the auto level suspension.

I can't wait to just test it out and put 2000lbs in the bed and see it do its magic.

Good call. I'm going to call tomorrow and ask, since they said they were changing lube oil on the truck if they can do fuel filters also. I have a 300 mile home trek and since it has 15k miles I'm almost doubtful they've ever been done.

Read the Owners manual, for an 01 that was optional, for an 18 it is a must to.
These trucks have so many hiden functions you'll never figure them out by yourself.

Dont go crazy about the fuel filters, they can sure stay a little longer then 15k miles, they are not full to the top and short from bursting.

What do you mean I will barely get into 6th gear? Because it is so tall with 3:42 gears?

Just a little jab on only 300 miles. I went from a 1993 to 2001.5 to a 2015, you are going to love the new truck! 80 MPH is about 1750 in 6th gear and around 18-19 MPG on the open road.

The Aisin and 3.42's work well. You get a freeway cruiser and can tow heavy with the Aisin's lower 1st and 2nd gears compared to the 68RFE. We towed at 25,400 combined in the Western mountains without issue. I tow in 5th gear at 60-62 MPH.

Enjoy

My apologies! I took that too literally lol. I've heard the low end torque is incredible on these new trucks, not that the 5.9 had bad low end, but the 6.7s really blow them away.

I'm extremely excited about the Aisin, it has those lower first gears to get the load moving but equals out in the end. From what I hear the 68rfe has a lot of shift flare and the Aisin has more of a direct drive feeling. The amount of "slip" my 47RE provided drove me nuts so I think I'll really appreciate the Aisin.

Nice truck. Looks like you are in New York area. Make sure it isn't a Canadian unit they brought in. I still believe they do not have remaining warranty if it was a Canada truck. Lots of dealers have been doing that near the borders.

You're good. I believe the truck is from New Brunswick according to the Carfax. The dealer is providing me with a 7 year/100,000 mile warranty.
