just swapped in a used pump and got it running after a month. now it runs with a slightly low idle(not important) and no oil pressure. my manual doesnt have any trouble shooting info for this. what do i need to check to make sure its getting pressure. im sure its ok but its not reading. let me know what you guys think. thanks

You probably damaged the oil pressure sending unit when you changed pumps, unless you removed it first. Or maybe knocked the connector loose. It is on the side of the block behind the p-pump in the area of the ps pump. Hope this helps. You can also remove the unit and install a tempprary oil gauge and check pressure.

Try just hooking up a oil pressure gauge to the top of the oil filter housing, there is a plug on the top of the fliter housing for this purpose. My gauge was intermittent, so if the hose is long enough, tape the gauge to the window to monitor it as you drive down the highway. My oil pressure problem ended up being the sending unit (left side of engine, behind and below the fuel filter housing) I could not find the right part at the cummins dealership, so I bought on through Dodge, ouch, they are spendy! What are you going to do? Hope this helps?
