Noticed Coolant leak when cold

The small hose underneath near the exhaust is leaking when cold. Looks like about a 4" long red hose that has a foil shield on it. Is it best to go back with the OEM dealer part?

Have a look at this thread, a lot of us have had the same issue in the past.



Cummins is the cheapest and best source in this case.

Thanks for the thread... I will search to see if there is a D/FW area Cummins dealer that will ship them to me. Different posts with added information. I saw where someone had to remove the upper heater hose to get all the coolant back in. Some say to remove the back pipe and slip it on and some say remove the front pipe.



I wonder how many went back with Mopar Coolant/Anti-Freeze?

THis cold leak is another one of those things I really need to do... .

I will be going back with plain old ELC 50/50 pre-mix. .

yes, loosen back pipe and hose will come off and install much more easy. i tried to just loosen front pipe and it was not enough... use silicone spray and she will go right on. .

I am posting this reply to this thread for reference to this known leak on 2006 models. Post #62 shows the photos of the hose and area of concern. Just trying to be helpful to others whom may have this known problem.
