Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) NV4500 Input Shaft

I was having trouble with my clutch releasing so I pulled the transmission out the other day. When I grab the input shaft it has a little wobble to it, I can't remember from when it got put together if it was there then. Should the input shaft be pretty much rock solid? It doesn't move in and out just a little side to side. Thanks

There should be vary little if any end play but side to side is normal.

A little play is acceptible. Endplay spec is . 004-. 006" but I've seen them running symptom free with as much as . 030"
