You heard it here first, folks! :)

I'm going to be soooo psyched if this is true... I may even email the PDR folks (I hate calling them when I'm not buying anything... ) to get the lowdown.

I had no idea the new trucks were an MLS gasket! I was trying to get Cometic to make one for the Cummins... if the 3rd gen gasket will fit a 12v, I'm going to be VERY pleased!!! :D

Remember guys with a MLS gasket the head and block surfaces need to be mirror smooth. To do this right we would need to pull the block and have it milled and prepped extremely well to ensure the proper seal.

I purchased said gasket. Part number 3957650. It came with a notice from Cummins that says " The new design provides of improved sealing and clamp load retention over previous design. " It also says" The old style gasket must be used on engines built prior to the engine serial numbers listed above or a coolant leak from the cylinder head will occur. " It looks like a regular gasket except it is missing a small hole it front exhaust side and has an extra compression limiter in front on the exhaust side. Cummins topic number 04T2-8. Have a nice day.
