Noticed this big long delay before pressure comes up on the guage. Don't like it, but figure that if it's par for the course, then I'll live with it.

So go time yours and vote!:p

I wonder if it really takes that long for the pressure to come up, or its 'cause of the electric sender? I would like to hear from someone who has an aftermarket mechanical gauge, and see if they're delay time is the same, anybody have one?

A guy on here checked it one time with a mechanical gauge and the pressure there it just takes awhile to show on our gauges. :)

Finally got to check Mom's truck. I took a full 6 seconds-hot today.

Dealer has been servicing it. NO MORE, no telling what they've been putting in it.

I have confimed it with a mechanical gauge. There is a delay while the computer starts up, then all the electric gauges will power up simultaneously. With the mechanical gauge, pressure is up in about 1-2 seconds.

The CanBus that sends sensor info to the dash gauges is performing a lot of communications with all the sensors on startup. I think the oil pressure is pretty far down on the list of priorities. Someone several years ago posted that a mechanical gauge shows oil; pressure as soon as the engine starts but the dash gauge is slow.
