My oil pressure sensor has failed. I can see it if I look thru between the inner fender and the frame, but I haven't figured out how to get to it to change it. Any advice?
Also, the vacuum pump seal has been seeping a little oil for some time. I'm too old to fight that battle. Does anyone know of a shop on the west side of Portland OR they would recommend? I have used Source Automotive in Clackamas a few times and am satisfied with their work, but I don't like the 60 mile round trip.
Thanks

The oil pressure sensor can be reached from the top,you may not be able to see it..Working on any car you learn Braille. It does require a special socket.

I did mine from the top. Be sure you get the right one as I believe there were two available one actually is a sensor and the other just a switch. I also knocked the line off the vacuum pump which I found out later when air came out the defrosters only. I do not remember a special socket other than it needs to be deep.

Hang in there Markan I'm sure someone will chime in with a recommendation on a reputable shop in the are requested.

Years back I got the vacuum reseal kit from Geno's https://www.genosgarage.com/product/gould-vprk-9602/engine-rebuild-kits-2
and did myself. The kit contains everything needed, I'm pretty sure they even include an extra seal just in case a there's a screw up. I hear ya on wrestling with that and hope mine lasts "forever". Also, https://www.genosgarage.com/product/sensor-4326849/engine-sensors-2 there's a few as well as wire adapters, but I'd call them and ask which one is true psi sensor and not just a switch. I recall replacing mine with true sensor and not needing the wiring adapter.
Anyhow, until someone recommends a shop for you, you could get the parts and save on shop markups as well as make certain you get the correct parts = not relying on shop that might end up getting incorrect and having to reorder correctly.
Good luck with quest for shop.

Thanks for the replies. I got the 3 prong sensor from Genos, when I get the right socket I'll give it a try from the top by Braille.

I believe the old original sensor was a different size socket than the replacement. It's been a while so maybe wrong. Guess you will find out.
