Warrenty for RV tires

new inferno toy hauler

I have never heard of a 4 speed standard on a class A MH before. Four gear manual transmission is not enough gears anyway and I wouldn't like a Detroit diesel engine.

I have coffee with 3 guys who own big class A coaches in the 200K+ range... none of them even understand the air brake system, how it works and the necessary upkeep... They are all over 70... ...

One of them on their return from AZ this spring had a front blow out... he couldn't remember the last time the front tires were inspected or measured for proper air pressure... . he lost control and ran it out into the desert... the only people who would repair it was in Eugene OR, where it was made... the tow bill to get it there was $5 grand the repair estimate was $82 grand... mind you... . he didn't hit a thing, nor did it turn over... . this is just from jumping it through the brush in the desert... .

There isn't one of them that could handle a 9 speed transmission with a Hi/Lo range like an Eaton/Fuller or Dana manual... behind there 375 - 400 HP cat or cummins... with 1200 ft lbs of torque...

That's what really scares me. All these people with these RV's and they don't know anything, or very little anyways about maintenance and how to drive one of these rigs.

They should be required to have air brake endorsements and commercial licenses to drive them.

They will never require any endorsement for RV's....

It is a "Bus conversion". Most of the large "Greyhound" style buses used Manual trannys of that era. The early ones used straight eight buick engines with the later ones using GM Diesels.

I always found it ironic that I could not legally borrow my friend's dump truck, but Ma and Pa Kettle can tool down the road in a 38,000 pound coach with no training or licensing required#@$%!

Always liked that style of coach. Needs updating...

Here is a link to what it looked like as a BUS.

9830

WOW... only 65 of that particular coach were made... 40 foot long, 4 speed, most all were greyhound busses.
