jkalchik, the Jordan that I am in is just SW of the Twin Cities. If I recall correctly the one up north is Jordan township in St. Louis county. Let's see... truckstop between Rochester and Minneapolis..... hmmm... . you aren't referring to the Cannonball are you? The only other truckstop on that stretch is the Pumphouse in Inver Grove Heights.

The Cannonball. I live a mile and a half south of it. And work in Arden Hills.

Over 1/4 million miles on a VP 44, I am impressed. Mine is still going at 170K, good to know they all don't die early!

On the fuel, can't say as I have noticed, but haven't driven the CTD much in the past 2-3 months, in fact I still have the mid October fuel in the tank. I have been running a B20/ULSD blend in the Jetta, it does seem to smoke less.

I, and a few others, were talking with John Holmes at Carson Dodge yesterday. He too noticed his trucks were down on mileage and power. Recommends running the 7 micron fuel filters, as ULSD has a higher detergent factor than LSD and will be loosening stuff up from refinery to injector. He said the USLD won't hurt the older engines, but the older fuel WILL hurt the 6. 7's. The full turn over to USLD doesn't have to happen until 2010 and he is concerned about small towns, ranches, mines, and other places where CTD owners fill up having old fuel and new trucks. BTW, John gave a great on the spot class to a few of us about the cold air intake etc. that is on the Carson website. Nice guy and has forgotten more about these trucks than I'll ever know! A tremendous resource for CTD owners. Personally, I haven't towed since switch-over and don't drive hard, so I haven't noticed a power issue, but I do think my mileage is going down. On the other hand, the truck only has a little over 9000 on it, so it's not broken in yet. Too many variables, including colder weather, 4wd use, longer idle times, higher idle, etc. I drive it, it gets me there, I'm happy! :-laf
