Opinion On 06 Infinity Sound System

I have the RAK stereo in my 06 (6 disc/cassette). I had the RAQ(?) (single disc/cassette) in the 03, the 99, and the 97. This new one is by far the worst of the bunch. It does not have the rich full sound that I was used to. I thought maybe it was just me, but without asking them, both my wife and daughter made comments about how "flat" the sound was. I let them play with the bass/mid/high settings for about an hour, and they gave up. For those that say it's a truck, dont worry about it... ... geez, guess I shouldnt expect as much for my 1000 dollar sound system as I would if it were in a car.

I just sold my 03 QC with single disc and 4 speakers. My wifes 05 Liberty with the 6 disc/Infinity sounds a LOT better than my 03 did. The 03 was replaced

with an 06 megacab with 6 disc/cassette/Infinity and I don't think it is nearly as good as my wifes Liberty but it is a little better than the old 03 setup.

My ears are not perfect anymore at age 56, but not THAT bad, and I DO like it LOUD on occasion. The wifes Liberty seems to have better definition between highs and lows



Is it possible the hugeness of the Megacab interior is "muffling" the better sound?

Hi folks went to dealer today played three systems on the lot all 06,s same deal crappy so I am going to buy two new speakers and put dyamax insulation inside the doors hope it fixs my little DC owy. THANKS FOR LISTENING. :{

The cabin volume will affect the lower frequencies a bit.



The greatest cause of change of sound between two similar models is cloth and leather. Leather reflects high frequencies better than cloth, which simply absorbs them. I don't know about these trucks, but many auto manufacturers have different equalization built into the amplifier to make up for the differences between cloth and leather in an effort of making them sound the same.
