Over Drive Issues

I have a 92 Dodge diesel and I am having problems with the speedometer bouncing, and it wanting to shift down out of over drive. Does anyone know anything about it? Or also have this problem.

VSS on the transmisison or a wiring problem to the VSS is the usual culprit.

Best thing you can do is bypass the TPS and put overdrive on a switch .that way you have 1 less worry

That's what I did with a high beam switch on the floor. Now the North Koreans can nuke us and my O/D will still work

Yeah it makes it nice to not have to worry about TPS going out .

The OP problem is not the TPS, the speedo is bouncing causing the OD to drop out. The TPS is an easy fix, the speedo a little more invloved.
