On my last run east I noticed my fuel economy improving rapidly. I snapped a quick shot for proof, but it actually hit 95MPG... :-laf

Of course... It was one big *** hill in northern Ontario!!:D Didn't last too long!!!

You just made Obama's radar on the increased milage dilemma legislation he just proposed. GOOD for you

I've done the same thing on the last long stretch of hiway 5 going down to Hope B. C. I reset it at the top and hit 122 mpg.

I only use it to see what my rate of fuel consumption is. Just as a benchmark/indicator of whats going on. I drove east and seemed to average 20+/- MPG. Coming back in a head wind I felt like a Ford owner and saw 9mpg#@$%! I just hit reset and see where it settles at...

I wish my 06 would actually reset. When you push the reset button, it starts where it left off, so if it is reset at 12 mpg, it takes a long time to get up to 19 or 20.

Does anyones actually work? After 550 miles mine always reads 21. 6. When I fill up it's 16. 5-17. 5

Nope!!

Mine reads 24. 6 for my work ride and I'm only getting 19. 2 hand cal. It was a lot closer before I added the the Quadzilla chip.

You'd think with all the monitors and computers they have, these things would be spot on. x amount of fuel went through the engine while the y size tires turned z revolutions = exact mileage. What's the problem?

Sure, mine's pretty darn close. It'll show around 19. 5 or so empty, which is usually pretty close until you hand calculate the speedometer difference. Loaded, it's pretty close without the hand calculating. Mulitiple large grade pulls tend to make it show lower than it is, but all in all, it's pretty close. It was a pretty easy fix. It took a Pier's Quickspool camshaft, . 020 over pistons, one cylinder sleeve, one wristpin, new bearings, injectors, Wilson Intake manifold(Proudly gifted by Wilson for TDR writing competition!!), 35" tires, dual spacers for the rear, a Switzer S400 turbo, some 5" exhaust, and leaving the speedometer miscalculated @ 5 mph slow..... :D

They don't measure the fuel used; it's calculated based on the injector timing.

I have hand calculated every tankfull since buying the truck as I really have no confidence in the digital readout. The '03 is marginally closer than my '99 was but still not all that accurate.

on the 06 it shows exactly 4 mpg more than it is hand calculated. the 01 is generally only one mpg off so it is a little more accurate.
