I searched the forum and nothing came up. Has anyone else had this code? Looks like "Gear 5 incorrect ratio". Trucks been unhappy since towing a heavy trailer from Reno to Vegas on 37's. I'm sure I did this to myself and need to both fix the transmission and regear from 3.42's to 4.10's to keep this tire size. Truck is stock otherwise and hasn't had any "weight loss" programs or tunes. Any thoughts on a good transmission shop in Vegas?

For regearing in Vegas I can recommend Dan's Driveline. First hand.

The gear change must be programmed into the ECM for proper functionality, the shift pattern is optimized for the differential ratio.

Welcome to what happens when you do customization to a truck! When you start down the road of oversize tires or wider rims, it affects the strain on the drive line and suspension. These trucks will tow "heavy", until you change to "far" away from the stock setups. The larger tire sizes change the rolling diameter which in turn changes the forces on the transmission. We all can get caught up in the looks and forget about the function. Sorry that this happened to you, but that amount of money is cheaper than a new truck!

My '14 is overkill for most of what I use it for, but it's there if I need it or get the trailer I'd like to get!
