My truck was special ordered with two tone paint per the VIN build sheet
"WATER FALL TWO TONE PAINT"
Prairie Pearl Coat
Brilliant Blue Pearl Coat

It was an employee built truck.

Can people with this color scheme post pics so I can see what it should look like. My truck has been "repainted" but it's a crap attempt at a paint job and if I'm gonna repaint it I at least want to consider the factory option.
Below is it's current look, the inside of the bed, firewall, inner fenders are all the Prairie Pearl color so I'm certain that it's the base color and the blue was the secondary

Whatever color your door jams and under hood color is the "base" color, the secondary color was applied after, the dually fenders were painted only one color (secondary color) not that it matters for what your asking. The paint line was then covered by a three color stripe tape about 1" wide (I was able to find a complete tape set NOS on eBay).

If you need measurements on positioning the tape stripe let me know I can get some at various spots for you. My truck is '98.5 flame red/white 3500.

Ok. I have no idea what to think then unless the truck has had two repaints in 174,000 miles. The truck body is definitely silver and appears to have been its whole life. Is it possible he ordered it waterfall painted and changed his mind but it still shows on the build sheet?

That sounds right, I think. There is a silver/blue waterfall truck I see around town here. It is silver up top and blue on the lower. I know Dodge changed the paint options over the years so maybe you could have ordered it reverse in some years.

I suspect the lowers were always painted after the truck was painted as there is a lot less to mask off.

One of these paint schemes?
With your description of bed being Prairie Pearl I'd say the top photo, only in Brilliant Blue instead of green.
Many of the environmentally friendly (water based) paints, especially the "silvers", would peal off after a few years baking in the sun back then. May be the reason of painting the truck all one color.
