I'm back!!! #ad
Been driving all day. The extent I go to for your performance benefication #ad
Not sure where that word came from! #ad

Yup, we tried the new "Performance Edge" on a tired old neglected( #ad
hehehe) "98 today and everybody was diggin' it! Dave didn't like the part where I told him it was just a prototype and I needed it for dyno testing. To quote him he said "Wuch ya talkin' 'bout? Get outta the truck"!! Hehehe Anyway, he's first on the waiting list #ad

Today I am even more impressed with the device after this latest first hand experience.

Tomorrow I will address all your questions raised here on this topic. Thanks for chiming in!

Will the addition of the new Edge timing module necessitate the reconfiguration of the Power Edge to similar fueling maps as is the case with the VA CPC (i. e. , no fuel added below 10 psi boost)? Just wondering. #ad
(BTW, I know the PE can be used in its standard configuration with the VA CPC... just makes more smoke. . AND POWER below 10 psi boost). #ad

I suspect those "first in line" will be those who have already BOMB'd something - injectors, other boxes, 4" exhaust, etc.
In your testing, please don't forget to stick this on a "stock" ETH, and let us KISS'ers know if this is finally the product that will bring us to the dark side. For a stock truck (ETH), or almost stock (RE-880 filter), what will be the impact on:
1) Power (will I need a new clutch?)
2) MPG (I want to kick some 12 valve butt)
3) EGT (will I need a 4" exhaust?)

Looking forward to more reports!

HC,
I have a test box on an ETH with a muffler eliminator, pyro and boost guages.

This man pulls a heavy 40' flat deck and reports 1100 degrees while accelerating and 700-800 while cruising. Low end power is much more resonsive and over all drives very well.

"HVAC, how does this module work (perform) with DD3's and the HX40 housing? Does it add smoke?"

Bill, this device will add fuel at much lower then stock rpm/boost levels just like the VA box. I have not had the prototype on a truck with the Stage III injectors, but if the reports of the VA were accurate then the Performance Edge is going to result is some smoke with larger injectors if you floor it.

"HVAC, Just curious, how does this box compare to the VA CPC? Can it be used in conjunction with the VA? Also, can the timing be adjusted or is it at a fixed setting?"

Brad, this device replaces the VA box IMO. It outperforms it as a result of the integral boost module. I don't recommend using them simultaneously.

HVAC - Couple of ? I think this has been asked, but is this box seperate from the Edge box or is there an all in one box. I ask because I see it has a boost module in it and so does the Edge. Second question, when can I get one... .

Yes, the Performance Edge will replace the VA box. It is less money and has the boost module integral so you can run different injectors. I plan to offer it along with some 275 injectors for a neat package.

There is a railcar enroute from Ogden full of Performance Edge boxes #ad
I need to blow a few of these critters out. Feel free to email me #ad

JR2, the "Performance Edge" boost module connectors replace the PE wiring at the MAP sensor. Then the PE taps two of the wires to access the info it needs. This new module is a separate device that will live under the hood of your truck. The wiring is protected with high heat insulation so the higher temps under the hood won't be a problem.

Is there anyway that Brett will offer an all in one PPE (Performance Power Edge)in the future for those of us that want to keep things compact? <font color=blue>

WOWZY,

Yes, Edge plans to offer the PE and EZ together (probably not in one box, but it is possible). The name coming down the line is the EDGE XTC (subject to change).

"Do you have a "Seperate" box, or were you shipped a PE w/new product all in one?????"

Kat, the prototypes are in PE boxes and will live under the hood. The wiring insulation is different and I believe intended to withstand the increased heat that is present in the underhood environment. I have been velcroing them on top of the relay box on the drivers side fender.

We have some digital picks of the connections. Hope to get them on the site soon so everyone can get a look see. Gotta get webmaster Mike back so we can update
The Performance Site

oh sultan of HP , i need one of these babies on the right coast before the end of themonth , if it can happen i can do a back to back DRAGSTRIP comparison of the newest edge product against the VA on my rolling TESTBED . this way the masses can see a comparision in some real world, power to the ground testing , if all happens at the correct time it will be with my modified trans and dare i guess that lo 14's maybe hi 13's are possible , biggest problem will be traction , but i have a pair of 12" slicks in the garage .

any of the aftermarket axle companies make a race type axle for a dana 70 #ad

I got an E-Mail from Brett on the combined box question.

"Jamie
Should be shipping end of the week or the first of next, we have a waitnig list let me know. This box is an add on. We will be combining the two into one later about the 1st of Dec. Price for the Power Edge EZ retail is $***, for PE owners is $***. This box runs real well, it feels good. Call or reply, good to hear from you
Brett"

Hey HVAC!

I'm real interested in the new EZ Edge box. Just about ready to pull the trigger on a VA and boost module. When will they be available and how much? Send me an email if you can't post the price. I'm currently running a stock 2001 engine and auto transmission. Any transmission mods needed for the EZ? Thanks!

Steve
