FF1607, if you want to try one of the Performance Edge/EZ devices, all you need to do is to show up at the October Showdown event in Tulare. Brett/Taylor/ and I will be there.

arar, don't compromise your warantty under any circumstances! Do absolutely nothing to your truck and you will save money. The upgrade thing is much to complicated for the average joe #ad
Ask your Dodge dealer how to get the power level you seek #ad
They will simplify this for you. Good luck!

arar,

It obvious that you haven't done your homework. Try reading the older threads on power enhancing components. Be very careful you might learn something! Being a member since 10-10-2000 you have got a lot of reading to do.
Come on SCHOOL STARTS TODAY, get started!

The enhancement stop when you say they do! Nobody twists your arms to BOMB!

I advise you to check the cost verses performance of the FEW enhancements the dealer has to offer!

You might also want to read the posting about establishing a "Baseline".

Also... . it only makes sense that the longer these 24 v's are out, the more things are coming out to enhance the performance. That's the case with all electronics... . as soon as you buy it, they have improved it by the time you get home and you're already 'old-stuff. ' That's the way it goes... like B. Bob says... stop when you want to!

arar,

One thing dude, BREATHE!

You're getting much too worked up over this. BOMBing takes a little bit of research. There are lots of questions, I know. I've asked alot of people about things I didn't quite understand. I've also spent many hours on the phone with people (HVAC, Joe D. , Ted J. , Bill K. , Thanks you guys) asking them for advice and what they think I should do.
If you have questions, or just want to talk truck, email some of us that have BOMBed. I, for one, would love to answer your questions.

Sorry I rubbed you guys the wrong way. I thought I was doing my homework. I only started posting 10-10-00. I've been a member a lot longer than that. I'm recovering from neck surgery and will be off from work till Jan. or Feb. so I have alot of time on my hands. Time I normally don't have time to spend on this computer which is usually the last thing I want to do when I get home from work.
I honestly appreciate some of your passions for these beast that populate our driveways. These beasts that are just waiting to be unleashed. The dealer is the last place I would go for an upgrade, they either don't know or don't care. The upgrades they offer are for manaul trans trucks, besides who wants more tork w/o more HP. And I am not worried about my warranty at least as for as the dealer is concerned, I am beyond that, but I dont seem to be getting any input from people that use any other aft/mkt upgrades. Everybody out there couldn't be using the same thing; it gets a little frustrating. AGAIN my apologies.

arar, there are many different ways to wake up that cummins and just about everyhing known has been discussed on this site. Unfortunately, many pioneer bombers that have much knowledge on the subject are no longer posting as much as they used to. Also with the current allegations and suspicions that DC may monitor this site and void warrenties has made many very cautious about what they post and the info that they include in their signitures. Do search's on injectors, exhausts, and bombing and you will find enough info the keep you busy for days. Also go to some events meet and talk to others and see first hand what they have done to their trucks. Remember, Bombing is a hobby, not a necessity.

arar,I know you don't want to void your warranty but I put 275 injectors in my '01. It made a big differance in how it runs and doesn't make to much egt. You can't see'em so the dealer can't say BAD DOG,NO BISKET. Ordered a VA for dads '00 monday, can report on that later. I'll try it on mine also. This new Edge sounds very good too. MY advice is to research this site. You will find someone who has tried the products that are out there... . Blue

Thanks for the advice, now you see that's what I've been looking for. Sometimes you just have to get peoples attention. I plan on attending my first event this weekend in Tulare. Packing-up the mrs and kids and driving the three hours down there; probably spend the night. I'm particularly interested in the Propane Injection system. Cleaner pwr sounds very appealing seeing I have to meet CARB specs but I'm going to try and stay open minded.

FROM the reading *I* have done in this group concerning increasing power output - bang for the buck - propane injection seems a dern good bet - no twiddling with injector pumps or injectors, potential for REDUCING EGT while INCREASING power, and improved fuel mileage. All with one relatively simple add-on that can be instantly switched on or off from the driver's seat.

Wonder how it compares with the devices in THIS thread in terms of power across the rpm band? It would be sorta neat to do a test between two identical trucks, one with the propane injection, the other with the gadgets discussed here.

HeberRam, I would like to know where everyone gets the notion that all VA equipped Rams smoke???? Note my signature below... I have virtually NO smoke with this combination. #ad

Q. Where does the new Edge product connect? I'm getting the impression that it does not connect using the same connection point (i. e. , at the injection pump) as the VA? Anyone?

John... I think you're right, it does not connect where the VA does, but I can't tell you where 'cause I don't know, but I'll find out shortly. They do say that it is a factory plug in though like the VA, so that's a plus.

Hey if it plugs in in a new place the DC poeleece will have to make new void stickers to put on that connection. I predict soon they will just put a big void sticker on the hood where ya cant open it #ad

HVAC,
Does the edge have a fueling curve of its own? Have you tried the 275's and the edge together? How is the smoke? You said that you thought this would add 100 hp. How does the power compare to the DD stage 3's?

Yes I know, a lot of questions.
Thanks,
Ron

Bill,
Unfortunately, for some of us bombing is our only choice. I love my Dodge when it is not towing my 26ft. 5er. But I am going to bomb strictly because the truck will not pull up the mountains. I do all my playing with my '73 Stingray Vette and the other "toys" my dad and I have. But all of my experiences with increasing power have ended with more work. My Dodge is a daily driver, not conducive to "tweaking" when something goes wrong. I am looking for an add-on that will not sacrifice clutches and transmissions, but will give the truck the power it was advertized to have from Dodge in the first place. I don't think I am alone in this feeling either.
From what is posted here, the EZ sounds like a good bet. Can anyone tell me if it could be adapted to be "switchable" so I could turn it off when I am not pulling, and help the life of the clutch and trans?
My $. 02 worth.

Sometimes silience is a virtue!! I was hoping that some of you would have gotten the new Edge EZ by now so I could shut-up for a while!!! #ad

To answer some of your newest questions? The EZ does plug into a different place then the VA. One connector is to the MAP sensor (which monitors boost) and the other is into the four prong dianostic port of the ECM. Yes, it has its own fueling and timming curves. It comes with three adjustable pin locations inside the box that you can choose to adjust the fueling curve ie. , amount of smoke. I have not tried the #2 or the #3 position as I feel the #1 position works well for me. I have 275rv injectors, and the combo should increase HP approx. 100 HP or more. I have not Dynoed yet, however, HVAC I think has and it's in the ball park. You will need to also install the boost elbow if you want to increase boost over factory setting. There are two different elbows depending if you have a rubber tube connector to your wastgate or "hardlined" metal. Be sure to order the right one when you order your EZ. I haven't talked to Brett for a few days, but I'm sure by now they are in full production of the final item. Since I have been using the Edge EZ it appears I'm getting a 5%-10% average mileage increase. #ad

Finally, we get some information on this new box. I can't understand why it has taken so long and someone other than the the guys at Edge to finally post the info. I have emailed Edge twice and no response. And why don't any of the vendors ever update their websites with the new products they are selling? TST has a new 10 power level box, no info anywhere to be found. BlueChip has a new adjustable blue-box, no info anywhere to be found. Edge has new plug-in box, no info anywhere except the few posts here, and most of the posts appear to have been speculation and obvious misinformation(1 post intimated the new Edge box plugged into the lift pump). Why is accurate info so hard to obtain? If I was a vendor, I would have accurate and up-to-date info on my website, since everyone posting can obviously open a new session and get the info directly. Certainly makes you wonder what is really going on. The timing issue of the new box has yet to be answered, seems no-one has the answer or doesn't want to answer. I'm just trying to get an honest assessment and comparisons to other products( i. e. VA box). Vendors can't expect customers to buy products based on a few posts without any accurate information and comparisons.

HeberRam,
Thanks for the info. This is the first that I understood that the EZ has 3 different settings. Is the 66 hp that has been talked about on setting 1?
Ron R

Maybe I can help on this topic. I talked to HVAC on thursday on the shipping status of the EZ and injectors that I ordered, he told me that Edge was fixing a minor problem with the epoxy they were useing to seal up the units(this box lives under the hood so I doubt that it is adjustable)and that he was hoping to get orders out starting Monday or Tuesday. This is fine with me, I like dealing with people who are up front and honest! I think the best way to describe the performance of the EZ would be to say that it puts back in what the government took out with emission controls(advanced timing ect. )When mine arrives I'll install it on my brothers ETH and let you know how it works #ad

I also got the same story from HVAC... . Edge was doing some improved water proofing and such. EZ PE boxes should ship later in the week.
As far as companies updating there websites more often, give them a break. Small compaines like Edge, TST and such probably do not have a full time web designer and also probably do not have a full time advertising department. Big companies plan the release of products months if not years in advance so they have plenty of time coordinate the web/product/advertisments stuff. I for one would rather the guys at Edge, tst, etc spend time in the shop making stuff for my truck than doing web pages. Another point to remember is that we have a few test pilots here, some of the boxes guys have and are writing about have not been officailly released.
