Want to install boost gauge this weekend. Could someone please tell me specifically which bolt to remove near the fuel filter. This seems like the spot everyone is putting it at. I have a 98 12v in case it matters. Also do I need to buy any other pieces or adapters if I go this way. Is this also the easiest way for my year ?? Hopefully this wont turn out like my project last weekend when i lost my magnet in my exhaust manifold installing my pyro and I had to pull my manifold-THANKS

Rednut, I have a 95 that I installed a boost gauge. Your 98 should be similar. Between the injector & intake manifold there is a plug in the intake. Take the plug out & use this hole. Thats where I have mine hookrd up at. You will need a 1/8" pipe fitting. A 90 degree fitting workes great. Hope this helps. Jeff

Rednut, Larry's link is accurate but, the engine shown is the older model. The plug is in the same location, but the cross over on top of the engine is different.
You have the same truck as mine. Looking at the eng from the front, go to the 2nd cyl valve cover, and about 6 or 7" to the right and down slightly,is a plug. Kind of between the inj pump and valve cover. It's sticking out horizontally, towards the inj high press lines.
FYI I didnt need the 90 deg. elbow.

Patriot---- 2nd valve Cover???? Are you talking about the 2nd injector if i am standing at the from to the motor?? Also why do guys talk about putting it back near the fuel filter ( I think they remove a bolt on top of the fuel filter housing but not sure)

If you look under the silver one piece cover, you'll see the individual covers for each cylinder. The second one from the front. #ad

Thanks Patriot- I guess you can tell i never had the cover off!!!!!! At least there are no magnets involved!! Ha ha ha ha

Mine was hard to get to so I put a tee fitting in where the AFC/boost line goes on the top rear of the pump and put it in there and it works fine

Just installed my boost meter,, drilled and tapped just up from the boot under my fuel filter mount. was easier than trying to take the plug out of the intake manifold. works great!!!!!!
