what did you use to polish it with?

I started with 150 grit sandpaper, after it was nice and smooth I used 600 and 1000 grit respectively wet/dry sandpaper using water. then I used some metal polish. The picture doesn't really do it justice, but it isnt a full polish like the chrome tips

We are a different breed here on the TDR! I got the Geno's turn down for mine. When it came Mom asked why it was so important to have that, I explained that when I leave work I pass the security gaurd and didn't wanna smoke him up... kinda true! #ad

Hey JoelPry, the tip looks good. I hate to bring bad news, but I think the pipe had an aluminized coating. I did the same thing by sanding the texture out of it and followed up with polish. It looked good, but soon began to rust. I eventually had to paint it. Next time I would just polish the tip without any sanding. Hope this helps.

Evan, I did wash my truck the day after, and noticed I already had a couple of rock chips #ad
After I got done throwing tools around the garage to cool down #ad
, I decided to buy some mudflaps and the clear plastic tape to cover the lower panels, so that will be my next project, I'm going to try and not drive it until I get that done.

John, the letters are a NIGHTMARE! Mine are not as good as I'd like them to be because I can't find anything to get the inside areas of them - what are you using?
