Has anybody out there in TDR land installed a product called “4x4 posi-lok” on their 4 wheel drive Dodge. It’s a cable that that engages the front axles in place of the factory vacuum unit. Has anybody had any problems with engagement of the front axles when it’s cold? My Ford left me stuck once when the front auto hubs didn’t engage. I installed Warn hubs to fix the problem on it. Is Dodges system better? Thanks, Jeff

I've got that on my truck. It works well.

You also get 2wd low range if you want to back up trailers and such.

It's nice knowing that the front axle is engaged instead of wondering. I had a few instances street racing where I thought it was in 4x4 and it wasn't and I got spanked off the line due to excessive tire spin. That doesn't happen anymore. :)

The worst part about the setup is that you have to wait for the splines to line up. You pull the shifter into 4x4. Then you start pulling on the engagement cable and have to steer left and right while slowly rolling to get the splines lined up before the unit will engage.

Other than that, I like it.

had it on my last truck [98. 5]. it worked well. just make sure you fully engage it by pulling the cable all the way. i had a couple rigs with vacumn actuated cad give me problems so it was nice with the 4x4 posi-lok as i had no worrys and knew my front end was locked. i also liked the 2wd low feature
