Chaw, Brett can taper the fuel off on the bottom end to accomodate the VA box so I would imagine he can magically cause the fuel to come in earlier. I just called him and he said they are experimenting with this. The concerns are not to have fueling at idle and the expected lack of a smooth transition from stock to the enhanced fueling from the PE.

HVAC, I wonder if the PE came in @ 500-700 RPM's earlier, if there would be less clutch slippage since we have such a dramatic transition at the higher rpm's with the current one.

I think that it would be less of a shock to the clutch if it did come in earlier, because the boost would be lower at that point

I know that we'd have more smoke but you know that doesn't bother me one bit.

Yogi, Where did you get your pillar mount from and do you like it? I bet as soon as I order one, somebody will come out with a dual pillar w/tweeter replacement.

Anybody know torque figures for the HOT #3 version of the PE as compared to the standard #3? I've heard someting around 280 ft. lb. increase with the standard #3. I would like to try the Hot #3 but I'm still waiting for my new clutch to get here.
Something tells me the hot #3 might be too much for a 1000 ft. lb. clutch to hold.

WOWZY, I like it fine, I'm pretty short so the guages on dash would bother my vision more than you tall boys. The mt. came with my Banks Stinger + kit, I don't want to hear it Kat D. #ad
, I purchased it before I found the TDR. I can get the 3-P mt. here locally for about $30. , but I don't think they have the one w/tweeter. I'll check and see if they have the 2 or 3 P-mt. w/tweeter and let you know.
Larry.

280 torque sounds high to me. We will have results from Saturday to post here soon. I can tell you that my anemic little grocery cart was able to muster about 100 horsepower which would translate to 230 torque. This was with a slightly hotter #3 then the standard version.

For those that may be interested, the triple LED version of the Power Edge is available now. If you have the single LED PE you can acquire the 3-LED PE for $49 bucks which will include the shipping. For $59 you can upgrade to the 3-LED face and get a reprogram of the fueling curves. Again, includes shipping.

Personally I am waiting for the atomic 3-LED/ compact disc/ 900mhz palm pilot combo with liquid nitrogen cooling #ad
I get bored with off the shelf stuff #ad

<font color=blue>Hey if Banks works for you then by all means great..... my rantings on Banks was EXACTLY for the reason you stated..... new people know nuthing but Banks! I'll hush up now. #ad

Ah, starting the return trip today. (MT>VT) PE is off (for now) but remains a great temptation. #ad

I doubt that a lower turn on RPM will make a difference to OEM clutch life. My truck had the VA with DD I's and then the VA was swapped to a hot PE. The PE did in the clutch in less than one week (no racing starts, zero, none, and I am sticking to that story)

Trying to get advice on the SaulteSainteMarie to Montreal loop. Darn mapping software justs will not go to Canada... . #ad

OK. Im new to this bombing thing. I never bombed my 96. I am due to take delivery of an 2001 2500 QC 4x4 Cummins with an auto transmission. I'd love more power but I dont tow much, if anything and I dont have a lot of money to spend on auto transmission upgrades, accessory guages, and all the "bombing goodies" I'd love to have. Do you guys think I could put the powerMax box on my truck and just run it "as is" without screwing anything up? I would also like to know how much a PowerMax costs and how I can get one? I just want a great running, good looking, reliable rig. Can you guys help me out with some real world, ordinary guy, info?

Thanks,

Billy Ray

00, good to see ya. Must be gorgeous at MM eh?

The timing module will be availabe in the near future. It will be a stand alone device that will live under the hood like a boost module. Stay tuned #ad

Had another stumble Friday, guess it's time since the new 3 light boxes are out, to update my PE. Kinda thinkin about maybe putting the #3 level in the #2 spot and putting the Hot #3 in the 3rd spot. I know that some of our fellow TDR brothers have done this, How do you like it? I might have to rethink that since I have plans to get a 26-30 ft. travel trailer next year. Any comments?

After a movie on Friday, had the PE in the #2 level, a 3500 Ram with young adults (19-23)was hot rodding around in front of me. Was able to finally position myself next to him, we coasted to the next stoplight, #ad
#ad
stoplight change to green before we came to a stop, he took off rather quickly so I hammered it in 3rd and sailed by him. #ad
#ad
Needless to say, at the next light he pull up behind me instead of beside me. Guess he didn't want to talk. #ad
#ad
I know, I shouldn't make our fellow Ram brothers feel bad, but I couldn't resist.

Home from my 2wk PE Vacation. 6K on the truck, VT to MT and back with a booze filled relaxing week on the shores of Whitefish lake in MT. Outbound via Chicago, back via the Upper Pen. of MICH. and Canada

~18. 5mpg, clutch is trashed from playing with the PE , truck ran great but had about 2 PE 'coughs' per day. SPA gauges were perfect once the new TC arrived mid trip (thanks MCROSSLEY).

Suggestion: I would love to add one of those floor mounted (or shifter 'BPINE' style ) momentary switches so that I could 'engage' the PE while passing. I found (while conserving the clutch), that once I was commited to a passing maneuver it was often nice to reach down and 'engage' the PE for an extra burst of power. At that point the boost is already up and I did not see or feel any clutch slip. The SOP meter loved the extra margin of power when the wife was starting to get nervous about my passing on uphill grades... . #ad
plenty of room, just felt uncomfortable for her

I did have a little PE 'fun' outside Montreal putting a flashy Audi to shame who tried to pass me (on the right). Something about seeing these wide eyes looking up at you when they realize they have just been denied from a very dangerous inside pass by an 8600 lb 4x4. #ad
I know, shame on me...

Off to the airplane tomorrow. . Phoenix and Camas, WA.

Is there a chance of the stock clutch holding if the truck only has the power edge installed and no other performance goodies? DMV got me for #ad
3060$ #ad
so the dual disc will have to wait a while.

Got up to about 80 degrees today. 45 miles south down in bishop it hit 100. Kinda nice living at 8000 feet #ad
At least during the summer #ad
