EZ and DD2's-- no slippage here. But I only had 12K miles on it when the BOMBS went in.

It's not JUST the amount of power that determines if the clutch will hold-- it's how that power is delivered. Generally boxes are more aggressive than injectors so the clutch handles the injectors better.

IOW-- if you bomb with 120hp injectors, the clutch should have a better chance than with a 120hp box.

There's a lot of variance from one clutch to another, and even within 6-speeds or 5-speeds. Driving habits also play a big role.

All that to say that an estimate on clutch holding is a wild guess at best, so be prepared to pay if you wish to play...

I believe that it is a bolt-in. At one time it was quoted at about 100 ft-lb more holding force than a 2nd gen (505 to 600... that seems logical). But unless you get a take-off from another member it's probably as costly from the dealer as a South Bend. Could be good for a little bit extra though.

Mine held an EZ for over a year without slipping. Moved up to the Comp in January and have yet to slip it. I mostly leave it on level one unless it is play time and I go to 5X5. I think it is all about how you drive it. If you nail it at low rpm's you are asking to much for the stock clutch.

i'd like to put dd'2 or alike, but i have almost 2 years or 100,000 left on the engine warrenty. maybe i should just put 275's in be done with it for a while. but the thrill won't be as great:(

I've got DD1's and a Comp Box and slipped my clutch a few times last winter. I thought for sure after that it was toast, but it doesn't slip a bit anymore.

Now that I say that, it'll probably slip tomorrow.

I also towed a 2000lb flatbed trailer with a car on it to Texas with the box on, and it didn't slip once then either.

I think it's the 4x4 HI launches that'll toast it though.

My clutch is also a 100k original, so It's definitely due for a swapout, at which time I'll probably do a South Bend Clutch.

I have the stock clutch in mine still. With the DD2s all seems fine when you drive "normal", but when I want to punch the throttle and row through the gears seems OK? maybe... ... ... . lol. I can smell clutch when I hammer on it. It started slipping after the DD2s went on and the 4" exhaust. The box really never gave me a prob. I am being gingerly with the truck now until I can get the SB in. So I say go for it, you want to put DD2s in you will not regret it, save ya step in the injector ladder... ... ..... lol. :D

I've had no trouble with either mach 1. 5 EDM's or the EZ used seperatly. Together & WOT is out of the question as the clutch starts to slip at 15-1800 rpm.
