Hey guys I have 2016 ,3500 with the 6.7. The truck is stock with 50,000 miles on it. About a month or so ago it started to whine. The noise is definitely in the ps system it is very faint at start up but touch the brakes or turn the wheels and it starts. When driving you can hear it when you ease off the go pedal and changes as the truck downshifts. You can't hear it outside and seems to be coming thru the firewall. Thats what makes me think its a hydraboost issue. Everything works fine no leaks fluid level good and clean. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated .

comrades - what smitty said is the same with my 2018 2500. just started whining couple days ago. everything full and clean. 19,000 miles. cheers!

Atleast yours should be under warranty should you get it fixed let me know. I read in another form that this is a known issue with Rams. Turn up the radio and go til she blows.

I've had the same thing on my 2013 for years now. It's not loud just always there. If someone has a "fix" or service idea on how to make quieter I'm all ears.

On my 08, i had the same thing going on, it was a hose that the liner was bad and causing a restriction. They had a rcall on it back then.

I’ve seen the same failure. The plastic liner inside the hose slides and becomes a hydraulic harmonica...........and I hate harmonicas.

If it is the hose liner, its the pressure hose from the pump to the hydroboost. Remove the line at the HB and look for the Teflon liner sticking out of the fitting.

Is there a TSB or similar document for this....? My truck is getting a bit whiny.....

went to check my hoses and found they have a pipe bent in the shape of an s on the end. Not sure how the inner liner could move with the hose formed the way it is. Unless I'm missing something. Do you have a pic of what to look for?
