Hi guys, posted over the winter that my power steering wasn't kicking in right away on cold start ups, especially after sitting a few days. Since then, I haven't been driving my truck very much (once or twice a week) and now my power steering isn't working at all. The other day I drove it about 7 miles, the last 5 of that on the highway, and the PS still didn't kick in. (Actually, after a while, I could hear the pump growl and feel it a little only when turning left for maybe the first 1/4 turn off center. )

Any troubleshooting advice? Seems like the pump, but the manual sez it can have an internal leak in the gear box.

Thanks,

Andy

Hi, Andy

Check to see if you have any ps fluid in the pump reservoir. IF you don't top it up. I believe you are supposed to jack the front wheels of the ground. Turn your steering wheel lock to lock to get any air purged from system and than keep an eye on it to see if it is leaking .
