Quite a few people have posted about problems with the power steering reservoir cap blowing off. In my case the cap did not blow off but the pressure that built up in the reservoir would cause my brake pedal to stick just enough to keep my brake lights on, which in turn would hold on my trailer brakes occasionaly. I know this to be a fact because when the pedal would hang if I removed the power steering cap and relieved the presure in the reservoir the brake pedal would return to normal. Upon disassembly of the cap (pry the dip stick out from under the lock tabs on the cap) you will find a small rubber button that covers the vent channel. I removed the button and carefully buffed approximately one thirty second of an inch off the rubber dome which contacts the cap itself. This lessens the amount of pressure required to operate the vent. Be careful not to take too much off the button or the vent will not seal on suction and may allow contaminents to get in through the cap. Total time for repair: 15 minutes. Total cost: $0. 00 dollars.
