Powerstroke exhaust brake?

I heard today about an "exhaust brake" for powerstrokes available from SP Diesel . This thing sounds like a electrical device that activates some sort of "warm up feature" that is already on the truck to create a retarding effect. This sounds to me like using a tool to do somehting it was totally not designed to do. Anybody have any experience with it? Thanks.

the powerstrokes have what they call the EBV mounted on the turbo. it's an exhaust backpressure valve. it closes the butterfly to put backpressure on the motor to help it warm up; doesn't go away until around 140* coolant temp i believe. the same thing is done with an exhaust brake in the dodges. i don't think the retarding power is as good as a true exhaust brake, but it helps. obviously there are electrical ways to get around it, though i don't know how.

You don't obviously hear this thing working on the Strokes like you do an exhaust brake on a Cummins. Any explanation for this?
