I was considering getting either the FASS or Preporator, and kind of liking the debate,..... but now it's all about a family feud, and they're trying to pull anyone listening to thier side. All this court talk and slander has made up my mind... ... neither. They may have good products, but I just don't like the way they are bringing them to these boards... ... ... ... JMHO

I agree.

Both parties are trying to get business out of us... and are basically having a legal contest to see who can pee further.

A father/son suing each other? Those are the types of people that will NEVER get a dime out of me.

Matt

I agree with Kimber and Holeshotholset completely, nicely said guys. Now maybe its time for fass and PREPORATOR to to keep their debate in court jmo.

Maybe it's time for the "FASS vs. Preporator" thread, cuz this AIN'T IT.

This is the Preporator Dyno thread.

Look for my Dyno report in the next few weeks.

To members of the TDR.

The Preporator posts have been an attempt to explain technical differences between products and product origin. Explanations of source, cause and effect of air/vapor on the diesel engines power output, efficiency and exhaust emissions have been to help TDR members understand new technology and ways to improve the performance of their diesel engines while extending the life of their fuel system components.

Preporator posts have informed the public of actions taken to protect its intellectual property. The posts have never slandered or meant to slander any one!

Fuel Preporator International, Inc. and myself will be here to supply unique products and services to the diesel industry.

We will be pleased to answer any questions involving Preporator technology. We can be reached toll free at 1-877-463-4373 or visit our web site at www.ekstamworldwide.com or just enter Fuel Preporator.

Thank you,

Charles L. Ekstam

I think eveyone is getting tired of hearing you cry preporator!

Just face the truth the fass does the same thing (a differnt way) for less money and thats what it takes to sell somthing not a bunch of hi-tech talk that realy doesnt mean any thing to us!

thanks Ray Gullet

Test this weekend.

I should have my unit mounted and balanced for this weekend's dyno event.

News as it develops--sorry for the delay.

There are plenty of FASS threads. This isn't one. Hmmm, Mr Murle thinks they're different--Mr Gullet thinks they're the same.

I think CHARLIE knows!;)

Please start your own thread to discuss those things. This one is for DYNO testing of the FUEL PREPORATOR. Hence the name. :p

We have Dyno'd both of our trucks here in So Cal, to establish the Base numbers. We plan on running them on the Dyno with the Preporator installed within a couple of weeks (sooner the better) to see the final results.

Of course, you will all be the first to know.

The debate and the defense of the FASS system around here will never die.

The fastest truck at the drag strip runs a Fuel Preporator, and I will not part with it cause "I like it a lot":D

Just thought I would add some good clean fuel to the fire. :) :D ;)

I thought your truck ran more than one. Or am I giving away secrets?

My dyno will be same day without/with. Truck should make 450+ one way or the other.

RE:fuel Preporater

March 19, 2004

I just installed the fuel preporater with some phone help from Charles. What a great guy to talk to. He spent a lot of time explaining how it all works, etc.

It went well. I did not change the fuel tank pick up line but will at a later time with 3/8 or ½ inch line. I also connected the stock fuel filter canister in line with the preporator so I will have a fuel heater. That way I will not wax up my VP44 pump when it is cold. How I know to do this, I spoke to an engineer from Bosch Germany who helped engineered the making of the VP44 pump. Also got lots of other info that I wont get into at this point. Also the preporator filters at 10 microns and our stock one filters at 2 microns and the stock canister does not have much flow restriction. How I know this is I did a flow test on it.

And a BIG thank you to Bill and Steve for the stock filter canisters that they donated to me. And cant leave out 4X4 Bob for all the many lift pumps.

You could also connect in line your stock lift pump and it will flow fine right through it.

Tested that also. So all you FASS guy’s good luck in the winter with no fuel heater! Unless you connected one up with using your heater hose?

I also mounted a max flow kit from the stock filter canister to the VP44 it uses ½ braided SS line and fittings and 3/8 Goodyear gorilla hose lines the rest of the way down to the pump then to the tank. The fuel preporater return line to the tank over flow I used ½ inch gorilla hose and ¾ inch Y with ¾ inch gorilla hose. I mounted ½ inch SS shut off valves with locking handles pre and post of the pump. Also makes for a Great anti theft device!!. I pre filled the filter and water separator and then bleed the system by bumping the starter a couple of times and letting the fuel run into a 6 gal gas can then reconnected to the VP44 and bump the starter again after that started it. It started right up. My psi at idle 15 psi and giving it the go paddle it is 14 psi. It will improve when I replace the pick up tube in the tank to 3/8 or ½ inch lines. Which will be done soon. I noticed when running the motor it doesn’t smell as bad which is clean burning. Smokes less when given the go pedal.

I will update when I put some miles on it. Im off to a good start.

Off to the Dyno oh I for got stall have to install kev's pump then Off to the Dyno

:D :D :D Oo. Oo. Oo.

Reposted from another similar thread (David did it, so can I... ;) )

Wade, hope you will include your "before" fuel PSI along with other readings for a better overall comparison...

Sorry to be a skeptic - but I'll repeat, UNLESS your STOCK setup was pretty sick BEFORE the change, no logical or physical reason why these "seat of the pants" impressions are very likely - maybe some dyno runs, along with before after numbers displaying actual STOCK fuel PSI and power, then numbers AFTER the upgrade would be more accurate and revealing as to what is ACTUALLY happening... Human nature - especially after spending lots of money and expending lots of effort really tends to color our imagination - usually telling us what we WANT to see/hear/feel... ;)

I mean, be happy with what you have spent and done, it undoubtedly is better in quality than stock - but seat of the pants or other non-scientific analysis/claims just don't get it! ;)

I'll be looking forward to those dyno run results...

Gary- Both Dave and I recorded our Max/min PSI readings achieved during our Dyno runs. These numbers will be posted and taken into account when we discuss our final results. ;)

Only thing I need now-

Waiting on some parts from Rod at wildcat... ... ... ... ..... waiting... ... ... ... ... . waiting... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... . (still waiting)... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... :{

Test on hold for me. Didn't have enough resources to complete today's install.

Another week or so should be all it takes. Got the mount done--and have to mod it some more. Plumbing not even started.

SO, Wade, your "before" and "after" dyno runs will be days/weeks apart then?

Is any plan or adjustment in place to correct for difference due to temp, weather, humidity - I mean even the SAME truck on the SAME day will vary in output by more than some of the before/after readings already posted by others using system mods like these - shucks, even differences in a tank of fuel from one fillup to another can shift output readings significantly...

I know, a guy can only use what he has to work with...

Dyno runs

Gary-KJ6Q,

Gary You need to get a life and I thought I had time on my hands!! Get off your soap box:-{}

Ill be running with the same fuel from the last time i dynoed minus the fuel that i burned on the dyno if thats ok with you. and the same 02 truck, same tires, and wearing the same pants,t-shirt,socks,shoes,

right down to my under wear. will that be ok:-{}

Now i know that i have no life am wasting my time with you here:D :D

Will with that said have a nice life if you can fine one:D :) :)

David

PS ill be running with a chrome fuel filter cap that will add 20 hp to the dyno numbers:D LOL.
