2008, 2500, 4x4, Quad cab. The only add on is an Edge CTS monitor. I am having a periodic issue with my lights pulsing. It's all the lights, head lights, dash lights... It normally starts when I change between high and low beam. It seems like it only happens after I have been running awhile which makes me think some component is getting hot. Anyone else had this issue?

This has been talked about here several timesand these steps will likely help.

1. Even if the look clean, remove and clean your battery terminals and everyplace they connect (both ends).
2. Clean the ground connections around the perimeter of the eng compartment - they're the ground bolts that screw into your quarter panels.
3. If none of the above stop the problem then it's probably time to replace your batteries (which is what caused the same problem on my truck).

Good luck,
Scott

Sometimes a person just gets lucky. A few days after posting this, my right turn signal started to blink fast as though one of the bulbs was out. This was also intermittent and when I would stop to get out and see which bulb was out, it would blink at the normal rate and both bulbs were working. Then, finally, I caught it with the rear bulb not working. When I removed the rear bulb to replace it I found corrosion on the bulb contacts and the bulb was still good. I clean the corrosion and the signal now works as it should and the lights no longer pulse. Two birds with one stone and the problem identified itself.

Sometimes, even a blind squirrel finds a nut.

my truck was suffering a similar problem. flickering head lights. i have new batteries and checked the connectors. load tested, etc. . finally took it to dealer. found that the under hood wiring harness had a bad solder in it. the system was putting out 17 volts as some components were receiving less than 13 volts. so the computer was going from low to high voltage trying to solve the two different voltage issues with the different components.

the problem was fixed with a new under hood wiring harness. for a bit over $2200. installed.

glad your electrical problem was a simple fix… looks like the computer gets weird, when it senses a voltage issue...
