Pump Top

91-1/2 intercooled. Drip- drip at top of pump. Not sure of part names but there is a short ( 1" ) rubber hose about 1/8th inch dia. located to the rear close to the "banjo bolt" ? which seems to be connected to the intake manifold (for vacuum or ? ) Definitely drops of fuel very slow leak but I am sure that it is a new leak. This part is attached to the top of the pump and directly above the accelerator rod. Any help or direct me to photo so I can describe better would be appreciated.

RC, sounds like the o-ring on your fuel pin. (not cone) Only place fuel can come from when it comes out of that hose, which is a breather. Pull the pump top, replace the o-ring and throttle shaft seal, and what ever else is there.

Pump

Thanks so much. Now I have to figure out if I can do it on the engine with my limited knowledge. I knew somebody here would know about this stuff. Is this the one some of the guys are putting in something called old smokeys fuel pin? Might ber a good time to do that if I have to open it up anyway. Oo.

When you take the top off, if you haven't done it before, my advice is push the throttle shaft down as you lift the top! I found it is easier than holding the top 1. 5 inches up and trying to get the governor spring off, then losing the tophat spring. This way, you have the top off when you remove the gov spring.

The Ol' Smokey fuel pin is the cone in the AFC. No need to remove the pump top for that. The pin that is leaking rides on the cone. For reference, it is inside the allen head on the front of the AFC housing.

I agree with Jeff! Put in the 3200 gov spring at the same time, you are right there with it in your hand! ;)

Time and Pump Leaks

The small drip from the little rubber hose has stopped, wasn't bad to start with. Now I have a leak from the top of the pump, just below and to the left of that overflow tube. Seems to be kind of a cap or top cover with allen screws in it. Differant source of the leak or can I still fix it on the truck. Now we get a spot on the concrete about 6 inches when idles for 5 minutes. Can't afford a shop rebuild unless I have to. This pump still performs great as far as I can tell, just have this drip... . drip... drip. Is this thing going to start gushing fuel and force me to stop on the side of the road somewhere ?
