So, if the pumps jumps, do I pin the pump to keep it from jumping, or pin it and take it out so it doesn't break the pin off inside the pump? Worse case scenario, I could get a couple nuts and tighten them against each other on the pump shaft and turn the pump that way.

Just clean the shaft real good, I use brakeKlean then hit the shaft with compressed air to dry it before i put the nut and washer on

Its just a standard lock washer right? I might not be doing it in the right order but the pump gear is now off. I'll just turn the pump till it pins when I put the pump back on.
